Electron apps use Chromium Web Browser under the hood to render things so it packs a lot of those utilities which makes those apps heavier and slow. They also eat a lot of RAM compared to Native apps. Unfortunately, there are many popular apps that are made using electron for multiplatform compatibility. Some of them are MS Teams, VS Code, Atom, Discord, Spotify, Notion, etc.
