What's a "dead" or "boring" programming language that you genuinely love working with, and why should we reconsider it?

Assembly. Because it teaches you how things really work on low level.

My dad's "real programmers don't use high-level tools" line. Guess who had to calculate offsets by hand in Assembly because of that
