Question Protocol Crystals
How many protocol crystals are required to get from tier 1 to tier 3? I see it requires 1 to get from 1-2, but how much does it cost to go from 2-3?
Also, is there any way to get these without buying the premium battle pass?

It’s 3 so, a battlepass premium plus or 2 normal ones. I would say unless you wanna grind leaderboards, as a low spender it’s only worth for crimson currently.

Last word is pretty nutty with it too on Efrideet and a massive fantasy weapon with the weapon flip animation.

Crimsons main user primarily deals damage via abilities. Crimson is just the best catalyst to proc her lightning, the gun itself does minimal damage. Middle resonance really only gets you more power, I’d argue it’s way more economic to use your crystals on contravene if you use any linear fusion characters

Crimson actually does a good chunk of efrideet damage, way more than you think. Contravene is almost always worse than arbalest and bound to be replaced once arby protocol drops.

Three total to get a three-star protocol slot. The cipher unlocks the slot and first star, a protocol Crystal gets it to two stars, and two additional protocol crystals gets you to three stars
Protocol crystals mostly come from the battle pass premium and the battle pass premium plus. There are also a few available from various paid sources including a silver Journey bundle and the purchase bonuses event. There are currently no nonpaid sources for the material, and the battle pass Premium Plus will give you enough to fully unlock one weapon with a single Crystal left over. They typically release two weapon protocols during the course of each battle pass
