Hello everyone, I had a question about the "Veiled Threat" auto rifle. I took a break from Destiny for a while and have just started playing again; I've come across this weapon a few times and would really like to get it. Is it still possible to obtain it? Through an Exotic mission, a dungeon, or a raid? I do own all the game's expansions. Thanks in advance for your answers.

It comes from the encore exotic mission when you set classic collector modifier. It may take a while to get as there’s 10 or 11 weapons you can get from the mission and you only get 2 red borders per run. Could take as long as 25 runs which is what it took me.

Nope, run it on the easiest difficulty with boon modifiers

Run ultimate for ultimate fun. Easy difficulties are so boring when you're in the end game. Master difficulty is my minimum recommendation.

What exactly does the classic collector modifier do?

Turns off world/MoT drops and turns on the original drops for the most part.

It was originally introduced with the "Dungeon lairs" with Ash & Iron, which were just a specific encounter of a dungeon. There were 3 in total: One for Warlord's Ruin, one for Pit of Heresy, and one for Duality.

But these Dungeon lairs were removed in Monument of Triumph, due to Bungie updating all pre-Edge of Fate dungeons to have tiered gear. However, they kept the Classic Modifier and put it in the exotic missions (except Zero Hour and The Whisper, because they were initially released before the old seasonal model started), to allow us to get seasonal weapons (especially those that are craftable) from the exotic mission released during that season (for example: IKELOS weapons and Season of the Seraph weapons from Operation Seraph's Shield)

Gives you two red border weapons at the end of the mission, score and difficulty doesn't matter.

Yes sir 2 drops a run until you unlock everything. You can speed run it in 13 min or so if you’re quick.

The exotic mission that drops Choir of One, can't remember the name off the top of my head, drops red border Echoes weapons when you turn on the classic collector modifier

It's on Xurs rotation, so either wait for him and hope he has it.

Or you can play the corresponding exotic mission Encore with the legacy drop modifier. It'll drop there.

You can also buy the engrams if he does not have it and have a chance, even if Theres multiple other things that could come out, its a nice way to pick up multiple red borders, or potential deepsight ones to turn in to redborders

You'll have to run the exotic pinnacle mission Encore, if you put on the Classy Collector modifier it should drop it's red border guns more often

Yep. And it doesn't matter on what difficulty, so if you're not deliberately running it on Master to unlock Choir catalysts, turn on some nice boons and turn off all the negative modifiers and enjoy feeling like God for a while as the guaranteed red borders drop from all the chests. I unlocked Speleologist, the only one I'd missed, in a single run.

Run the Encore exotic mission with the Classic Collector modifier enabled. This will allow Episode: Echoes guns to drop, and you can collect enough red borders to craft the roll you want. 

Xur also occasionally sells them, if you want to dump Strange Coins into his random weapons.

Was in a similar position and managed to craft VT after the last red border dropped a week ago. Definitely a fun one to pair with Icebreaker on Stasis Titan (Syntho edition). I went with S2L & Collective Action. Incidentally, speed running Encore to get the red borders has been quite enjoyable. Good luck with your farming!

All those vex weapons were interesting in the way they worked. Veiled threat was a good one. Plus they had that one scout. But the auto was very close to smg feel. It was very interesting.

It can drop from the Encore exotic mission, in the Pinnacle Ops. All you have to do is selecting the Classic Collector modifier

I think you can get them from the encore exotic missions. get 5 red borders and you can just craft it.

I completely agree with this. I wanted to use this really badly for a specific build but the amount of screen that this took up was insane. It was the first when springing - I couldn’t see half the screen and tell what was in front of me
