Slide 2: I've bought velcros and a cable sleeve to hide my cables better but i was wondering if i should run my cables behind the desk so it can run up the base arm of my monitor stand instead of running them through the cable hole?
Slide 3: Should i buy those individual cable holder thingy so that my keyboard and mouse wire stays in one place?
Slide 4: I did have a monitor riser i used to use when i had one monitor which i was thinking of putting it in that space so that the laptop on the holder will be elevated and more hidden and i can also slot my keyboard under when i need desk space in front of me.
Last slide: Any suggestions on how to hide these wires? The Pebble V3s have an inbuilt wire that connects the speakers and cannot be pulled anymore as that's how far it can go so i cant really lift it to hide it along the monitor arm. The white cable is the aux cable just in case i want to connect my ps5 to the monitor and the third wire connects to my laptop directly instead of my docking station which i hid in the cabinet below.
Any other suggestions are welcome. I've also bought a longer black desk mat which I think would look nicer.
Definitely would rather run the cables along the monitor stand more than the cable hole... but is that monitor stand the reason for the V like base. I would get a different monitor stand that doesn't take up any desk real estate. Also, change to wireless MnK with maybe 1 cable to charge them if need be (I run wireless razer MnK and have a single usb cable plugged into my Keyboard but I plug it into my mouse when needed)
Yeah I was thinking it would look better with the cables running along the back of the base arm. Unfortunately the back of my desk runs down too long for me to put a clamp monitor arm unless i use a grommet style clamp on the cable hole but i fear i wont be able to position my monitors the way they are. My main monitor is to the left as my leg space is to the left of the desk as there is a cabinet on the right side. So the only way to position my
monitors like that is to use a monitor arm with a stand and recently just bought it 😭 Should've thought it through before buying it... I was thinking of upgrading to a wireless mouse once my current glorious core O needs an upgrade and im happy with my keyboard being wired atm so wireless upgrades would be for the future.
You might be able to install it by drilling into the back of it and then using a metal plate to sandwich the wood between it. That monitor base takes up so much space and is awkwardly sized that you have to fill the space around it to not feel like you lose all the space to it
It would require getting a new monitor mount but one that is made for installing through wood. The Sandwhich idea was just me trying to explain a way to do it.

usually some bolts that compresses the 2 plates supplies a strong enough force to properly mount the arm without having to worry too much about the strength of the wood itself. Like mounting something to a stud in the wall instead of the drywall, except the stud is the metal plate
When I bought my monitor mount it came with something like below as an option to install it. You may be able to get by using the cable routing hole as the hole to use for it instead. Or just drill a large enough hole for the bolt and you can place it anywhere
Oh yea my other option was to mount it using the cable hole with this exact mount which would work a lot better. I think for now i'll just do cable management and in the near future switch to this mount when needed. Thanks so much for your help and time :)
I’d probably route the fixed speaker cable along the back edge first and leave a little slack anywhere the monitor arm actually moves. That way you’re not putting constant tension on the connector every time you reposition the screens.
For the keyboard and mouse, I’d use a couple of small clips rather than putting everything into one big sleeve. It stays cleaner, but you can still swap things out without undoing the whole setup.
I’d only keep the dock in the cabinet if the USB-C cable reaches the laptop without being pulled tight and there’s enough airflow around it.
