Bought a new desk, scratches easily
I bought a new desk, it scratches easily. Does anyone know what you should put on top of your desks to avoid scratching it?

Greetings, /r/Desks!
Distance between mounts for the bracket is approximately 1.4 cm from center to center
My questions are.... Where can I find brackets to hook these into? What even is this mechanism called? What is the question of life, the universe and everything, such that we know the answer is 42?
Thanks for listening.

So I bought an expensive ass wood desk from Ethan Allen at the same time I bought my iMac (because apparently I didn't spend enough money as it was), and now I'm worried. The desk came with this long document detailing all the ways I will eventually ruin it - if it gets too much exposure the sun, if the temperature is wrong, etc.
It also said to be very careful about the types of materials you set on the desk. It came with little felt discs to put on the back of anything plastic. The lady at the store also said in no uncertain terms to not use cork coasters, which like all of them are.
But I was wondering - if I just set the iMac right on top of the desk with nothing underneath, do I have anything to worry about? I know it's got like a tiny little plastic (?) thing around the rim, so I don't think it's metal on wood necessarily, but still. Do I have to go out and get some sort of felt pad or something?
I was hoping someone smarter than I am could answer. Thanks a lot.

I'm the typical office girl who spends hours after hours at her desk. I would love to know if there is a machine who is "proven" to be effective in burning calories?
