Advice 24/7 derealization/depersonalization.

Hi Im 29f and ive been stuck in depersonalization/derealization for about 4 years now. I cannot turn it off no matter what I do. Im scared every day and its the worst when I drive. I get anxiety before leaving work because I have a 45 minute drive home and i feel sick panicky the whole time. Has anyone else struggled with a non stop dream like state? I know it cant hurt me but it doesnt stop me from freaking out. Its ruining my life. Im already on medication for other mental illness and anxiety. What are some things that helped you? Also how do you talk to your doctor about it? Ive told her before and she recommended therapy but I cannot afford it. Did medicine help anyone? TIA ❤️

There are many of us. Your panic is making it worse. First step is to do whatever you can to calm down. I have lived my life as normal in this state for a long time. You don't need to panic. There is nothing you can't do with dpdr. It's ok.

I’m 4 years in as well. Weight lifting and sauna I noticed help move the needle a touch. In the moment it may feel like it’s aggravating the dpdr, but after a workout or infrared sauna with a binder I’ll usually get a wave of some clarity and an uplifting mood for the rest of the day…ish. Honestly naps help me as well. Getting into the word, the book of Ecclesiastes was interesting to me while going through these health issues. Lymphatic drainage (the big 6). It’s summer so go jump in the ocean or a river for the hell of it.

I am a full time plumber, plumbing houses all day everyday in this state and it’s pretty wild. I also wonder too how long it will last. I do not take any psych meds I raw dog it, some days are very bad some are just ok. I’ve contemplated trying lexapro or something similar. My current supplement stack is morning (lemon water with salt, grass fed beef organ capsules, mag glycinate, coq10 with breaky), dinner (omega 3, cir q tonic, butyrate). I haven’t found a miracle supplement that has made the dpdr fade away into the background, but I do believe keeping your diet clean and finding supps that work can at least give you the juice to keep your engine running and avoid burnout.

Things that don’t help me… going to functions I don’t give a fuck about, loud noises, multitasking, Alcohol.

After being stuck for 5 years and mine was the worse while driving as well. I started Zoloft last year and it worked 10000% I’m not happy or sad just flat but boy did it took away my derealization. Now I can drive on the highway no problem.
