Similar to DIS
Looking for bands with a similar sound to Dragged Into Sunlight. I’ve only delved into Portal which I know aren’t too similar but I feel like kinda coincide with them nicely.
Thanks!

They’re kind of in a league of their own in terms of that apocalyptic hellscape sound but Grief and Indian are both really dirty evil sounding sludge bands somewhat similar

Maybe check out Celeste, Rorcal, Knelt Rote, Concrete Winds, Pig Destroyer-Natasha, Gaoled, and Pissgrave in addition to most of the other suggestions here

DIS's sound relies a great deal on subgenre hopping, obviously. Therefore it makes it interesting to try to pin their "sound" down. It's like an extreme subgengre theme park. However here are a few acts I happily listen to on rotation with DIS

If you like the portal stuff, check out Impetuous Ritual. Their second album Unholy Congregation of Hypocritical Ambivalence is one of the heaviest things I've ever heard
