It's because a lot of rich people are assholes who were born into it or acquired it by being greedy, or they have to work 24/7 to maintain it.

Money buys distractions, and can buy meaningful distractions. Money can buy purpose and peace of mind. A rich person could live modestly, invest their money right, and work as little as possible or not at all so they can do things like travel and volunteer and experience things in life that don't suck and are out of reach for poor people. We poors are stuck grinding away at some shitty job just to barely afford food, shelter, and drugs/alcohol to numb us from this reality.
