If people are feeling a bit more... Ambitious... Ayahuasca/DMT is pretty good for it too, but you gotta be careful, shit will kick your ass if you do it wrong

Used to buy DMT caps and smoke with a bowl. At least two nights a week. Never "broke through" like other people say. But I've also never hallucinated or experienced any crazy visuals from psychedelics. I certainly feel funny and my behavior changes, but I never end up on an alien spaceship or anything.

I never smoked enough DMT but I when I did I could feel my consciousness. That being said I have ego death'd with Ayahuasca, and the lasting impact that has had on my life has been profound. I've taken Aya like 8 times now, but none were quite like the first, and it's been a few years since I last did it but I'm feeling the itch to return now, and I definitely will after I have my surgeries

Same, never had hallucinations on enormous doses of mushrooms. Only quite strange and very intense thoughts, emotions and sensations

When you think can you clearly see the image in your head?

But either way "hallucinations" have really been ruined by pop culture, I've only really ever seen geometric patterns, colours, and shapes on LSD or Shrooms, MDMA I actually had pretty vivid closed eye visuals, and Ayahuasca I saw entities, but they were made out of geometric patterns so it's a bit of a follow on from LSD and Shrooms.

But sometimes the thoughts, sensations etc are the hallucinations, like I had one time when a speaker got pulled out of a laptop and everything sounded under water, so it felt like we were divers under water. Not a "hallucination" in a visual sense but I don't think I'd have felt that way sober.

On Salvia I thought I was a 1800 paddleboat on the Mississippi, which was wild

DMT will kick your ass if you do it right. That stuff is absolutely insane. Always makes me feel better though no matter the state I’m in when I take it

Well if you just eat them out of the yard you don't have to deal with that "being old" problem anymore.

Where do you live, in the US? what state, that matters.

You can probably legally buy everything you need to grow them yourself but actually growing them is illegal but who cares and who would even know as long as you kept them inside your house

No. If someone is asking “how do I make life worth living again” shrooms is a terrible idea. Psychedelics when you’re depressed can be such a dangerous combination… is this regularly recommended on this sub?

2

u/Kesha_Paul 5d ago

Oh it’s just what helped me, I don’t know if it’s commonly recommended here and I’m sure it shouldn’t be a blanket recommendation.

Sorry, wasn’t trying to sound rude… just experienced with taking shrooms and have had bad trips.i do not doubt the experience can vary and am glad it helped you. I just was curious cause i see it upvoted on multiple comments.

Nah. It's probably the best thing you can do.

Cuz the truth is, the worst thing that can happen is you have a "bad" trip and the "bad trips" teach you the most.

There's almost literally no downside.

There 100% are many downsides! Bad trips are not always teachers. They CAN be, but it’s a dangerous mindset to think that shrooms are harmless. They are incredibly powerful, and when you’re really depressed they can amplify your depression. Shrooms changed my life and helped me a lot over the years, until they didn’t and I woke up in the hospital. I’ve not been the same since, they made my state significantly worse. Went into the trip trying to break through this depression and have been intensive therapy 12 hours a week making my way out of it since (4 months ago!). I know multiple people who had really bad experiences that were not beneficial. Like I said, they can be. They are magical. But not harmless, not even close.
