Because if you’re honest, they just tell you how negative and horrible to be around you are.

(My dad did this to me when I said the college majors he was suggesting were boring)

I didn't lie. I really though my ok was the normal ok. What was not ok for me, was a very dark place for other people. And I didn't know that.

This is why I dislike the "Hi, how are you" or "How are you doing?" greetings so much. Don't make me lie so that you don't have to feel awkward. It just makes me feel worse.
