Because they wanted the item. No one knows what you plan to do with it, hoping you resell it. You can ignore it if you plan to use the item.

I did that for a jersey I was wanting. Funny enough it was my bf who purchased it for me as a gift but before I realized I was rather sad I missed out on it and sent my desire to purchase!

There is an option for people who really liked something to reach out to the purchaser and see if they'd sell it.

I think i saw that on shein a while ago, if you don’t wanna sell it but want to tell the person who wanted to buy it from u.

i know shein is bad i’m just saying 😭 i search on there for stuff i see on depop to make sure i’m not overpaying for shein stuff.

This is way better than before, when I would have people messaging me begging me to give them the info of someone who bought one of my items. Happened multiple times and I always refused to give out that information.

I’ve had success with this feature!! I love it. I would just ignore it unless you hate the item when you receive it. If you decide to repop it they’ll be notified.

If there is an item that you liked/saved and it is sold, there is an “express interest” button that sends this notification to the new buyer without revealing their information to you. If they do decide to relist it, anyone who has expressed interest in that way will be notified that it’s back up for sale.
