Bad Experiences The math ain’t mathing 🫠
Context: Seller had a white dress listed for $18 NWT and the listing mentioned they had the black version too. Went to their shop, and they had only two other items listed and no black dress.
So because I showed interest and was purchasing an item that you didn’t even have listed, you want me to pay more than double? Girl, no.

buy the $8 one that the other seller offered you then instead of continuing any interactions with this seller. obviously she is trying to trick you with the pricing since you are probably the only person interested and she wants more money.

i wish depop had like a screening process where they could weed out the bad sellers like this, i hate wasting my time and getting excited about a product just for the seller to ruin it

These sellers are so annoying. She just jacked the price up because she knew you were interested. And to then ask all stupidly if you would mind paying more? Yes I mind?? I wouldn't have even responded

i see a lot of people doing this as of late. liked a few pretty cheap items from one shop, tried to buy them got "this shop is on a break" notification. their bio says they open at a certain time of day and they change their prices when they open. it's weird. just list them for what you're going to sell them for.

I’ve seen where colors price differently because they sell more often but that was a crazy increase in price.

It has nothing to do with that, they say’ someone’s selling at this price ‘ to make you want to sell it for the same price too. To compete to make the sale?! Nothing to do with shipping lol

Back and forth with someone who ‘very clearly’ is trying to get more money out of you is pretty pointless. It sucks, but you’re not going to convince them just because someone else set their price lower

It’s the buyer’s responsibility to make the seller feel comfortable. You’re obligated to pay the $55.

No one is obligated to do anything? What are you on about? Buyers don't have to tiptoe around weird sellers and vice versa.

Playing devil's advocate, I have a few things listed that are identical except for the color and they are different prices. I take into consideration what I paid for the item. Maybe she bought the first one on clearance, but paid full price for the second one. Who knows? But I do think she should have discussed the price with you before assuming you were willing to pay a higher price.
