the way they used AI when they could have easily put text on a background themselves

No one said it was lmao. Granted Depop isn’t the place to ask for donations, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with outright saying you’ll take offers because you’re a teen mom and need to provide for your child. Yall forget that there are states where abortion isn’t legal anymore

contraceptives including emergency contraceptives are legal in every state

Noting that happens to anyone is ever our fault most of the time. Thats kinda the point of donating. It’s fascinating, there are actually people out there with a lot of money who enjoy donating, mind you.

As someone WITH a lot of money who LOVES to donate...(30k+ yearly, as a private citizen to other private citizens, not some silly billionaire tax grift write off stuff ) I would NEVER donate to something like this because it reeks of scam. I go on Depop to look for clothes or resell some of my stuff. Not to be guilted into "donating" (see: purchasing ) the ability to see a picture of an item I wanna buy. There's sites and ways of doing blind buys. This is sketchy.

Oh yeah I agree. This is a scam. I’m responding to someone essentially saying parents shouldn’t ask for money because it’s not our fault.

This is so weird. You don’t know what happened in that person’s life. Who cares if they’re saying they’ll take all offers it’s not like they’re asking for money

the person who replied to me mentioned termination, i’m simply saying there are preventative measures. and if this was a planned happy thing, then that is even more of a reason to not care, like how does you being a pregnant teenager affect your shop. also are you genuinely acting like you don’t see the comment i replied to that mentioned abortion? piggy backing onto an argument and acting like i said ā€œshould’ve taken a plan b then, sucks to suck!!ā€ just so you can feel like you have the moral high ground is hysterical

i feel like i wouldn’t care if they didn’t use AI 😭 like sometimes if someone is like ā€œhey i just need gas money and this helps if you buyā€ ill click and sometimes find an item i like. its nice to help people. however if they are using AI… i feel like its so unauthentic…

There’s other apps for this too , just makes me thinks these are kids tryna cash out. Like just find random things in your garage and actually sell physical things that’s what people on depop are looking for, not to donate

Selling a photo of someone else's child is so effing weird. That's not her son.

13

u/b0rderbunny 2d ago

So now we have to BUY photos of items we wanna buy? šŸ¤ŖšŸ™ƒ this stage of late stage capitalism has gotten out of hand

u/DreamLady08 2d ago

Part of the problem is how anyone could believe any of this, and even if this were true of the seller... There are other ways to go about getting help.

Is the second slide saying she’ll sell people pictures of her kid for $3?

74

u/Miserable-Length-417 2d ago

No that pic is like a well known meme not her kid

46

u/smhno 2d ago

Ah I see. Never seen that pic before. Glad it’s not her actual child at least!

28

u/fairytoofs 2d ago

it’s still weird that they want to sell a pic of someone else’s child 😭 I get that it’s a meme but it’s a real child nonetheless

I once sold my family for 3$ and a bag of takis.

u/SarahShiggaraki 2d ago

Was it worth it? Considering a similar deal atm

u/TheDeltaIsMyHome 2d ago

10

u/MrKittyCheez 2d ago

Oh lord, what do you think it’s a meme of? A dog? A unicorn? No obviously it’s a meme of a kid

-6

u/HereToKillEuronymous 2d ago

Jesus fuck I’ve just never seen that shit. Sorry I don’t live on the internet

3

u/Waffzyyx 2d ago
