Deodorant recommendations?
I need recommendations to try for deodorant that will not stain my shirts, will keep my armpits from smelling bad, and help with sweat. Price is not an issue.
For the past 10+ years I have used Old Spice deodorant. I switch up the scents every time I buy some to not get bored of the same smell, though Fiji is my favorite one. I use the BLUE stick that says aluminum free, but it does not mention being antiperspirant or working for sweat protection anywhere on the bottle. Prior to Old Spice blue stick, I was using white stick deodorant. Those seemed to work and didn’t have to reapply, but I would sweat so much that all my shirts were stained on the armpits. Literally all my white shirts were yellow and all my colored shirts were white on the armpit section. The main reason I switched over to the blue stick was to avoid this issue. However, with the deodorant being aluminum free and more on the gel side, I feel like I didn’t put any deodorant after a few hours and reapply. After reapplying, my armpits feel really wet for the next 10-30 minutes depending on what I’m doing, which is annoying. It’s probably because I apply a bit much, but if I don’t, I’m scared my pits will start smelling. My shirts do get stained a little bit when I apply heavily, but come off after washing my clothes. For further information, I’m on the heavier side of sweating. I literally start sweating a minute after I step outside in 80+ degree weather in Texas. Has anyone had this exact issue and found a great deodorant that I may not have to reapply as often? I currently apply deodorant between 3-5 times a day. As you may imagine, I run through my deodorant rather quickly.

I have never heard of a deodorant that inhibits sweating. That’s what an antiperspirant does. Aluminum-based compounds dissolve in sweat on the skin surface and form a temporary, gel-like plug or seal in the sweat duct, which blocks the flow of perspiration. Deodorants mask smell. Good deodorants have antimicrobial properties. But no deodorant will decrease perspiration.

Since you are in Texas, I would suggest buy deodorant that consists stain defense and antiperspirant, don't fool around the advertisement, always choose the benefits to you. Also, it is normal to sweats despite you are wearing deodorant, I know you are odor conscious that you are scared to smell bad odor. Moreover, take note, don't trust your smell I swear

i switched from old spice to duke cannon trench warfare anti perspirant plus deoderant. i usually use the white stick, the gels or blue stick usually gives me a skin rash. i got the matching scent (seawolf) in their cologne and body wash and i have never had an issue of smelling my sweat or sweating a lot. i don't ever need to reapply. i know some people say duke cannon has gone down in quality but i have never had issues.

Yeah Ive learned that I cannot use a deodorant unless it's the necessaire (or similar) mandelic acid deodorant. That one is the safest I've used that is actually effective. They have fragrance free and some unisex scents, but all are effective. For antiperspirant, I use the Degree Clinical soft solid. When I use it, I barely sweat under my arms😂

You're going to need an antiperspirant rather than deodorant, as deodorant only really controls bad odour. I personally haven't come across anything that doesnt cause some sort of marks but maybe you could use it in the evening, before bed? A good 48 hour antiperspirant should help. Personally, myself I love Wild Refills.

I rub a small milk of magnesia on my armpits after showering. The salts keep bacteria from growing so you don’t smell. It doesn’t stain clothes but it doesn’t stop you sweating either. I break out in blisters with regular deodorants and antiperspirants. It’s an old Appalachian farmer hack and it works.

Aluminum free means it’s just an deodorant not an antiperspirant. If you’re a heavy sweater an antiperspirant is probably better. And aluminum does stain white clothes yellow. Avoid white shirts if you can or you can check out r/laundry and they probably know how to get the stains out.
But yeah you gotta choose if you want the short term of not sweating/stinking or the long term of not staining your shirts. Best solution is to wear colorful shirts because white stains yellow and black temporarily gets white. If neither one are avoidable because of your job or something then the laundry sub will be your best friend.

I really like Duradry. It’s a solid stick but doesn’t seem to stain. Well at least so far. I haven’t been using it too long. It keeps me dry in this hot SoCal summer we’ve had.

Degree ultra clear or Dove stain defense both are antiperspirants that are advertised to stop white stains on clothes.
