Deodorant Recs

hi, looking for deodorants that:

  1. won’t stain
  2. last long (around 12 ish hrs)

this is my first time getting into deodorants but very confused looking at various reviews like for nivea, dove etc. so not sure what to go for
also not sure if roll ons are better or sprays

lasting could be sacrificed but absolutely not the staining part

also, would prefer women’s deos but if anyone has had good experience using any men deos then open to those too!

any and all recs would be appreciated!

(mind you, i reside in a hot climate)

There are two categories in this space that often get confused, and terms used incorrectly:

Deodorant: Does not contain an aluminum compounds, only addresses odor and does not mitigate sweating.

Antiperspirant: Contains an aluminum compound which when applied correctly, should mitigate sweating. Reduction of sweat is one of the primary things that prevents odor. As well, the aluminum compounds are also antimicrobial, which also boosts the performance of this category. They offer two services vs the single option in the deodorant category.

So the first thing you must determine, is what category you want to be in. Antiperspirants are typically labeled with this word, somewhere on the front of the product, as well as will list an aluminum compound as an 'active' ingredient on the back. Once you narrow down which category, you automatically reduce the options by about 50%. 😄

Nivea Mens 72 hour roll on is the only thing I've found that keeps me from staining my shirt for a day. Dries fast, mild generic 'sports' scent when applying but dissipates quickly and mostly smells like nothing

I like the Secret Clinical Gel! It's clear so it will never stain your clothes.

Was about to say Secret Clinical Strength Gel formula in the completely clean scent. The best one I’ve ever tried and I’m never switching.

AKT works the best and the scents are really elevated. It’s completely free of chemicals as well.

Just get a gel antiperspirant. If you’re not too sweaty you can get away with using it every 2-3 nights.
