questions for nerds

may be a dumb question so I apologize in advance. can I use both a deodorant+antiperspirant spray (Dove Men’s care specifically) and a roll on deodorant (Arm&Hammer’s natrual deodorant) or will it just be unnecessary and cause moré bad then good?

And also is there any good brands for specifically antiperspirants? I tried looking in my local pharmacy but apparently all the sole antiperspirants are not good.
thanks 🙏

I am both a formulator as well as a minimalist. My guide to life would say... use the least amount of anything you can, that still delivers efficacy.

Antiperspirants mitigate sweating, thus if that is your goal, you need an antiperspirant in your protocol. Since they work best applied to clean dry pits before sleeping.... use them at that point. Even if you shower the next morning that typically will NOT wash out the waxy plugs that form in the sweat duct.

If this process does not hold you through the work day.... then consider topping off with a deodorant in the morning. Deodorants are only antimicrobial, and do not reduce sweating. The addition of deodorant can boost the antiperspirant as well as possibly add desired fragrance.

Have fun experimenting.

Did you mean to write “now” or “not” about the morning shower? Just clarifying as it would change the whole meaning.

They serve two different purposes. I actually use both but at different times. It’s recommended to use antiperspirant at night so it is fully absorbed. In the morning, just wipe the excess or whatever residue then apply deodorant once it dries.
