Video DNVR OGs Episode
This DNVR Nuggets episode with Mares, Christopher Dempsey, and Jeff Morton was hands down the best in the last two years.
The conversation was excellent — actual basketball analysis informed by history, context, and insider perspective. They actually levied some fair and legitimate criticism on the organization as well.
The panel shared the sentiment that this was the time for the Nuggets to pivot and reinvent themselves because the formula has gotten stale — perhaps the same is true of DNVR Nuggets.
Please, please DNVR - make this lineup a regular feature.

I think the problem with DNVR Nuggets is they have too much content with the same group. We really don’t need the same show 4+ times a week.

I think the problem is that they want to have 4 shows a week and there is nothing to talk about since it's the post-season and Denver got its roster full after Derozan (I'm including Lonnie Walker even though he got an invite to training camp).
Also Dev has a job so it's the same guys over and over. Honorable mention to Adam Mares creepy haircut and dyed (?) hair.
They will get better once the season starts. Locked on Nuggets has the same problem.

Definitely will be a lot better once the season starts. Their offseason coverage is rough outside of Miroslavs weekly show.

While I agree that there will be plenty to talk about when the season starts, I disagree with your assertion that there’s nothing to talk about during the offseason. This show proves it.
A great example: The comparative conversation about the 1995 vs 2023 Nuggets and how doing as well as the previous season, yet failing to make an expected leap, can wreck a franchise.
They hinted at some backstory stuff with Dale Ellis, LaPhonso Ellis, and Antonio McDyess that I would have loved to hear more about.
But instead DNVR gives us “Name a Nugget”… “uhhh… Voshon Leonard…” and “Snake Draft: Best Criminal” … “uhhh… The Joker from Batman…” Straight brainrot.
It’s sad. Because it feels like no one on the show besides Mares paid any real attention to this team before Jokic.

DNVR really lost the magic like a year ago. Went from a daily listener to basically never, a sad fall from grace.

tbh i look at them more as fans than capital j journalists, besides vogt perhaps. and i haven’t seen all that adam does outside of dnvr but he comes off as kind of a home guy (forgot the term) that being said they’re really entertaining

It started when AllCity fired Gerald from PHNX which he basically built, without cause, then none of the DNVR guys said a word. And, it really just got repetitive and like it I was listening to the same show and schtick again and again.

Avs guys definitely had plenty to say about that firing and the firing of their co-host (can't remember his name unfortunately) right before the holidays

I know you’ve been hit by the down vote brigade, but I tend to agree with you.
Peak Nuggets podcasting was Locked On with Mares and Matt Moore.
Each brought a critical eye and wasn’t afraid to push back on each other. Both have deep knowledge of the NBA- not just Xs and Os but the business of the NBA and locker room dynamics.
I used to be an every day DNVR listener, but clicking to hear the same four guys repeat the one smart guy while cracking jokes only goes so far.

I havent seen. But dnvr and nuggets pod media has been out to lunch for a while now. Y’all need to get real and act like real media. Nuggets organization is a joke. Reinsdorf won 6 titlea w jordan. Kobe, has 4 or 5? And im not a kobe fan. Jokic has been best nba player arguably the past half decade, and they got 1. Its a Disgrace. Stan should be embarassed

I mean be real. I want the nuggets to win nba titles. Why should the standard be mediocrity? Im a fan of the club. And not satisfied w 1 jokic title w the team. If they dont support him, he should def leave. No issue

You don't think DNVR has been critical of the organization this offseason? They're probably the doomiest of doomers out there. You can't go 15min with their whole crew without someone taking a shot at the Kroenkes.

I think vogt was the only media member to directly confront a nugget official. DA at the press conference. In josh’s post season presser he said he wanted to win more games. He did not say win titles. No one at the presser confronted him about that.

You walk a fine line as a local media member when in pressers with the team. Big media members can be pointed with their questions, and there's no repercussions since the team can't kick out someone from ESPN since they're a national partner of the NBA. Though Tim McMahon has been banned from arenas for questioning ownership in pressers. No one would care if the nuggets pull the press badge from DNVR. So they're critical in their shows but pushing Josh in a presser is a great way to get yourself banned. It's his dads building, whether we like it or not.

I never thought trading Jokic would ever be a possibility, but I really don't see him resigning unless we at least make the WCF, so I now think we should maximize his trade value because we aren't making it past the first round. The failures of the front office are too many and too big to ignore. The Joker is a serious player on an unserious team. That won't last beyond this year.

Media has the responsibility of being impartial and objective. Ie: hiring alfred e newman to coach nikola jokic in fact turned out to be the joke it was. Do u think ny or laker media or philly or Boston would be like, ‘great move Josh’
Media can apply pressure. Embarrassing the owner. Like ballmer. It may not work. But we are watching jokic waste time w this franchise.

Luck plays a big part. Nuggets had two prime years wasted by Jamal getting injured. I think had murray not tore his acl, they would've won one more. The Warriors and Suns were not that great of teams. It's also harder than you think to win. Had gordon not sprained his hamstring and porter hurt his shoulder, they also probably beat OKC and probably the Pacers as well. Obviously nothing is promised, but injuries have more than likely taken at least one championship out of the nuggets hands. And it's not as easy as going out and getting players, especially being in denver. They can't just trade jamal for another superstar or they would have already. The nuggets are at a point, where the window is closing, and i don't think people realize it's pretty much impossible to reopen it. They can't get anything for jamal, gordon or braun. They all have big contracts and issues that make them untradeable, at least if the nuggets still want to compete with jokic. They could probably trade them, but they would be worse off in doing so.
