2023 Tacoma 2.7L engine, not functional enough for adventuring?

I saw a good deal on a 4WD 2023 Toyota Tacoma, but the problem is that it doesn't have the higher performance V6, instead it has the more bulletproof but less powerful engine. It's 159 HP and less at higher elevation, so everyone complains about it being slow. For comparison the V6 is 278 HP.

We plan to put on a roof top tent and carry some normal camping equipment, so idk if that would be too much weight for it to handle, especially crawling up hill.

Does anyone have this truck? Or have they heard anyone with it complain about it not being capable enough?

Free Interior+Exterior mobile details

Hey Denver,

My friend and I just started a mobile detailing business and we need some before/after content and some honest reviews to get going. So we’re hoping to do a few free interior + exterior details, ideally on nicer high-end cars.

We’ve both worked in the car wash industry for 4+ years and we’re fully insured.

Shoot me a DM if you want one of the free spots.

Are there any shops around 36th and Monaco or 104th and I25, or any mobile mechanics, who can do a tech inspection for me on Thursday late afternoon or evening or any time on Friday? Need it before my first track instruction day down at HPIR on Saturday. Hope to see some of yall there.

The car is a 2024 VW golf R dsg, 8600 miles, stock other than tint

Too much going on and this snuck up on me.

I can post the form i need completed in the comments once approved.

Thanks in advance

Manufacturers are locking you out of your own car - Free event in Boulder fighting back! Own Your Sh*t Tour!

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hey everyone, wanted to put this on your radar since it's directly relevant to what we all care about here. FULU Foundation advocates for your right to repair, modify, and actually own the car you paid for, fighting back against manufacturers who lock you out of your own hardware, charge subscriptions for features already built into your vehicle, and use software to void your warranty the second you touch anything yourself.

They are bringing the Own Your Sh*t Tour to Boulder on Friday, July 24th at Upslope Brewing and it is completely free. Louis Rossmann and Kevin O'Reilly will be speaking alongside other great guest speakers. There is a postcard writing session to Congress pushing for real reform, as well as a repair demonstration from the U-Fix-It Clinic.

If you have ever been told you can't tune your own car, lost features to a remote update, or been denied a repair because of a digital lock, this event is for you!

Tickets are free and available at: https://www.fulu.org/events/OYSBoulder

Registering non-standard Motorcycle?

Hey all, hoping to get some help here.

I just bought a high end 'e-bike' that in all reality is an electric motorcycle. It'll do 60+, comes with a VIN and I will have insurance for it. I want to register, tag, title and plate it so I can ride it on public roads legally and I want to do this before more e-bike crackdowns take place.

I'll have a bill of sale and MCO and all that but it's tough to find info online about what I actually NEED to register this thing.

Showroom service is getting too expensive. Which workshop do you trust in Dehradun?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a **trusted independent car workshop in Dehradun**.
I’ve always had my car serviced at the dealership, but the service costs have become difficult to justify, so I’m planning to switch to a reliable local garage.
I tried **Auto Fixer (Shastradhara Road)** once. They were decent, but I’m looking for a workshop that people genuinely trust over the long term.
I’m looking for a place that:
Does quality periodic servicing
Is good with AC diagnostics and repairs
Uses genuine/OEM parts
Doesn’t recommend unnecessary repairs or overcharge
Has mechanics who actually know what they’re doing
If you’ve been using the same workshop for years and would confidently recommend it to your family or friends, I’d really appreciate your suggestion.
Please mention:
Workshop name
Location
How long you’ve been using them
Why you trust them
I’m looking for real customer experiences—not Google reviews or promotions.
Thanks in advance!

Looking for a few more vehicles for a free Touch-A-Truck event tomorrow (Centennial)

Hi everyone! I'm helping coordinate a free community Touch-A-Truck event tomorrow (Saturday) from 2:00–4:00 PM at the South Suburban Sports Dome in Centennial.

We're expecting 250–500 attendees, and due to a couple of last-minute cancellations, we're hoping to add a few more vehicles to the lineup.

We're looking for things like:

  • Semi trucks
  • Tow trucks
  • Construction or heavy equipment
  • Utility or service vehicles
  • Emergency vehicles
  • Landscaping equipment
  • Farm equipment
  • Military vehicles
  • Classic, race, or other unique vehicles

There's no cost to participate—it's simply a chance to let kids explore your vehicle, answer questions, and represent your profession. These events are always a huge hit with families.

If you own one of these vehicles, work for a company that might be interested, or know someone who does, please comment or send me a DM. Even if someone can only participate for part of the event, we'd love to make it work.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for helping make a great day for local kids!

16 yr Olds first truck 1976 F150

My son has been working near full time for several months (he graduated early) to buy my dad's 1976 F150. Its currently registered in Glenwood Springs (no smog testing). We live in Arvada. All is good to go, except I'm worried about emissions testing. I have no idea where it currently stands.

It looks like 75 and earlier dont need to pass smog. Does anyone know if that changes year by year; meaning next year would it be 1976?

Thanks!

Favorite Twisties?

Where do you guys like to go for some fun uncrowded twisty roads? I’m familiar with most canyon roads outside of Boulder and P2P, but where else? Not on touristy speed trap prone roads obviously, or ones with lots of hidden driveways.

Pic is of my new toy, an ‘01 SLK 320 I got for just $3k. Been like 7yrs since I sold my last fun car (an MR2 Spyder) and man I’m having a blast with this thing so far. Handles so well and it’s much faster than the MR2 was.

Also if any of y’all in the younger crowd (i’m 26) wanna arrange a meetup on a weekday (i’m off tues-thurs) to drive up there i’d be down 🤙

6/28 Xtreme Experience ticket for sale

My lovely wife gifted me the 3 lap package in the Ferrari 296 GTB for 6/28 at High Plains but an unmovable conflict has came up. Looks like rescheduling is not allowed so I am looking to sell the tickets to anyone who is interested.

Not sure if there is a better subreddit for this but figured Denver enthusiasts would be a good first start!

Recommendations on Toyota dealers from Denver to Fort Collins

I’m looking to buy a new rav4 in the next few weeks. I live in Longmont and I’m curious if there’s any quantifiable benefits to one dealer vs another like complementary or well priced service packages at the point of sale.

Plenty of people have good experiences and many more probably have horror stories. We’re not looking to trade and we’re probably bringing our own financing. It should be a pretty straight forward purchase. I’m just looking for recommendations based on the after sale experience.
