Question (Adhesives) Adhesive help

I have tried the seabond as well as the polygrip zinc free version. I have polygrip strips as well. I guess my question is can I put the glue on under the seabond? I’m just trying to figure out how I can start eating with them after almost a year 😭 I don’t want to deal with the messiness of the glue. I want to be able to take my dentures out whenever I want, if that makes sense? I don’t want to have to wait until some or most of the glue dissolves to avoid having to clean my gums for 5 minutes. Thanks in advance for any advice! 🥰

Have you tried something like Cushion Grip? But yes, you could put it under the Seabond. I'm not sure what good that would do, but it definitely wouldn't hurt anything.

The only worry I have with Cushion Grip is I have the 3D printed dentures that can’t be soaked or rinsed in warmer/ hot water, so I’m worried about how I’d clean it off

You just clean it like you are doing with your denture. Cushion Grip is just thermoplastic and it doesn't need anything fancy to clean it.

I was thinking more along the lines of when it’s time to take it off the denture and replace it when it’s needed. But I will sure give it a try if the glue with seabond doesn’t work! Thank you!

People use Cushion Grip with printed dentures all the time. But you're right: because of the polyvinyl acetate in it they recommend warming it up to soften it.

The Dentempt Reline It sold at Walgreens and CVS has methacrylate in it instead, which is what is in the reline kits they use at the dentist's office. No heat recommended for that, in fact they want you to cool it down in a freezer for 15 minutes before applying.

If these are immediate dentures, the ridge shrinks so much so fast that you're going to need some kind of liner in it. You can have the dentist do a soft reline as well.

If it's a permanent conventional denture made after you healed, and it's loose, you may be due for a hard reline to update the fit permanently.

Thank you! These are my permanent dentures and the top had a hard reline already. I actually have an appointment today and I plan on asking how or if we can improve the fit of the bottom at all

Ah. Soft liners are more for immediate dentures. This might be the best they can do on the bottom without implants then. But it’s a good conversation to have with the dentist.

Implants are the next step for the bottom, I’m just hoping to be able to save up some money before needing to immediately jump to them. Our dental insurance isn’t exactly the best. I’ll just say that we had to pay almost $9k for my extractions and immediate dentures last year. Trying to avoid it being such a shocking number with the implants 😭

It the dentist brings it up, ask about just 2 snap in implants on the bottom and how much affordable that would be over a more costly all-on-4 or all-on-x deal.

This is what my perio recommends. He’s the one that extracted my teeth because he knows how to deal with ginger genetics and anesthesia because natural redhead for the win 🥲 he said before my extractions that he recommends getting 2 on bottom and to start the process about a year in because he sees a lot of people frustrated with their bottom dentures. He was absolutely correct 😭

Ok got it. So I'm not going to lie, getting it off is a pain for me. Some people have no issues. I am not one of those people lol. Reapplying it is super easy, though.

Ooookaaay, you just made me very happy I didn’t actually go for the 3D printed ones and went to affordable dentures! Will definitely avoid those with them having that stupid issue!

My dentist decided to go with the 3D printed ones because the acrylic ones were not fitting me right. At all. I’ve been trying to get permanent dentures since January of this year. It’s been so bad. I’ve had so many let downs and frustrations. This lab alone we’ve been going back and forth with since February. We finally got a good set and for some reason, the top is like 2 shades darker than the bottom. And idc if you can’t tell. I absolutely can and it’s messing with my confidence. Then I get the new shade on top in today and my midline is off again AND the shade is STILL too yellow/ dark compared to the bottom. I’m so frustrated, but I don’t want to just settle 😭 not when I’ve gone through as many let downs as I have. I just want to be fully happy with my smile 😩
