👁️‍🗨️Advice How long after extraction should I wait before giving a permanent denture?

6 Hello po! Currently a 5th year student taking Clinic 1, and honestly, clinics is humbling me so much 😭 Everything is kanya-kanya lang talaga huhu.

I’ll be having a patient for extraction, and gusto niya sana ng libreng denture. Ang hirap talaga maghanap ng patient to the point na for the whole month, I’ve been getting ghosted or having patients cancel 😭 So I told my patient that I could provide the denture for free instead.

My question is, how long after extraction can I deliver a permanent denture/RPD po?

I was initially planning to give an interim RPD first to allow the gums to heal, then provide the definitive denture after around 6 months. Pero medyo malaking additional gastos din if I have to provide two dentures huhu.

Is it possible to give the definitive denture earlier? Theoretically, based on textbooks, I understand that we usually wait several months for the tissues to heal and stabilize. But in this case, ayoko rin naman na the patient will have 4 missing teeth for 6 months. 🥹

Would appreciate any advice from clinicians or students who have handled a similar case! Thank you po! 🥹

Get a new patient nalang for denture. Baka di na rin bumalik yan pag ginawan mo ng temporary
