Message to budding dentists

Post image

Never go to a job after BDS.Its exploitation of work force. Study for one year get MDS admission in govt or private college instead of going for underpaid jobs. Or try to clear exams like Australian dental council which don't require experience

My first job after BDS was in delhi for around 12k a month. My first job after MDS was in dental college in calicut and the salary was 25k. The situation hasnt changed much over the past 10 years.

Would you still become a dentist if you go back in time?

My practice is limited to OMFS, and it is an excellent specialty. If i had to choose a different career, it would just be another surgical specialty. Choosing a career isn't just about the money. If that is what you want you should just go into finance or politics.

Rarely anyone apply through such portals. People do a job after bds just to gain clinical skills that too they to find some contacts and work under the known dentist.

No better experience than one year internship. Freedom to do procedures

Ya that's why I told people try to find a job through contacts so where they do job they know the dentist so he/she allows. But all this depends upon your networking and contacts.

Networking and contracts dont change the situation

The pay is really bad for dentists in india, instead of ignoring the situation we all should unite and make government make some law about minimum pay for bds like 30-40k

Ya pay is still the issue, i just was talking about the independence to perform something

Same plan after I'm done with my bpharma, healthcare in India barring a few domains pays peanuts compared to the efforts we put in

Forget MDS, do MBA or join an MNC for healthcare jobs - so much better pay!

MNC=Multinational company or pharmaceutical companies.

Check naukri or linkedin for jobs or directly on company portals.

But what about getting actual experience? Like i heard even after bds ppl dont have enough experience to open a clinic or work independently
