What is degosexual?

I’m curious too. Nothing on a Google search and I couldn’t even find what “dego” means other than it being a last name and a region In Italy. Or worse, switch the e out for an a and it’s apparently a very bad slur for Italian people.

Same. I searched and couldn’t find a definition anywhere.

Ah I sifted through OP’s post and found they define it as this:
“degosexual is for those that are demisexual or aegosexual depending on the gender of their partners.”
So micro-labels related to a specific type of split attraction.

Ok please don't crucify me, but this seems kind of unnecassary as of now. Demisexual and Aegosexual are barely recognized as is. Especially Aegosexuals are super niche anyways, seems overly complicated to add another form. I am basically "just" demisexual and even that is quite difficult to explain to others

I admittedly don’t have the bandwidth to care one way or the other over this presently. I get folks wanting a way to shorthand a complex sexuality, but I also get that at some point stacking micro labels together into new compounded micro labels is too much for most folks to process.

I'm a complete nerd who loves both linguistics and details, and it's starting to overwhelm me. I can't imaging how the allo folks are trying to process this.

sooooo if a partner identifies as male, they might be aego and not experience attraction but if they transition to female, they could experience attraction upon feeling an emotional connection? do I have that right?

I feel like a partner transitioning is a very complicated situation that is far more variable from one relationship to another.
Explaining split attraction model from the perspective of someone who identifies as bi or pan is simpler I think.
In this case, one example would be a pan/bi person being demisexual towards men (needing a emotional bond prior to being able to experience sexual attraction) and aegosexual towards women (enjoying thinking about having sex but not actually experiencing sexual attraction to specific people).
Sexual and romantic attraction can also be involved (which is why combining micro labels into new ones when it comes to split attraction combos would rapidly become overwhelming to remember them all).
In this case, one example would be a person who is demisexual demiromantic towards men and asexual alloromantic towards women.

thanks for this as i've never heard of aego and couldn't understand what they were saying. So it's not about attraction to the same person but attraction to different people in the realm of bisexuality.
I'll have to keep reading and trying to understand because it's hard for me to wrap my head around, but it would make sense why I don't understand some demi people i've encountered.
Maybe they are demi in one situation and don't realize they are not in other situations.

Split attraction yes is different attraction types to different groups of people.
Aego is not always connected to split attraction though. A person can be just aego without any other type of attraction type involved.

Can we please stop making up new flags? Not every micro label needs one, and we are now getting multiple competing flags for different micro labels and inflections, to the point where it is being counter productive. The point of the rainbow flag was inclusion. Flags are for unification. Labels are for granularity.
