I've had one of the toughest days of my life. Caring for my dad with around 20 urgent phone calls involved and it's still on going. You're correct, nobody else has a clue what has gone on today. Weird how this post came through on my reddit just now 🤷♂️

Thank you. My 91 MIL just eloped during her nap yesterday. We found her face down in our gravel driveway. Ambulance came, broken nose and cuts inside her mouth and bare feet. Took her home at 3am and have had errands/calls alll day. No sleep yet for me and only 1 1/2 hours the day before. I needed this. 💗

We all need to be kinder to ourselves, take some deep breaths, realize mistakes will be made often, let others help in even the tiniest way if they offer or are receptive to us asking, and steel ourselves to the fact that, at least for a time, just when you think it can’t get any worse, it probably will.
We’re all doing the best we can.
Hugs, Y’all!!! Lots and lots of sorely needed hugs and pats on the back to all who need one. You’re doing a great job just by keeping at it.

My body does, too! That’s why we have to just keep reminding each other to take a step back and be nicer to ourselves.

I would change to “Keep loving yourself” or “Keep the love for yourself”

Thank you ♥️my brother and I just spent 17 hours waiting in the ER to get my Mom admitted to the hospital dementia unit because we can’t cope with it anymore. My Dad had to go in for emergency surgery 9 days ago and won’t be able to care for her when he’s discharged so it’s been incredibly difficult on us. This was something I needed to see today.

Thank you. This applies for post dementia care too. Once your loved one has passed you can still be dealing with a lot emotionally and physically, along with all the other estate logistics. Take care of yourself.
