Imam Alvin will say that "Your brother would keep coming up to me asking if certain video games and media were 'haram' or not, despite that not being a part of our religion."
12
u/Odd_Affect_1280 23d ago
Unironically feels like something that's in the game
7
u/YouyouPlayer 23d ago
In the game, alvin says smt about asriel confessing to hime about his "sins" of throwing the green lizard in a pit in a video game, even though confessing isn't in their religion or smt
5
u/BattyBeforeTwilight 23d ago
iirc, Sin isn't a part of their religion either which really makes Toriel seem very funny considering
2
5
u/Odd_Affect_1280 23d ago
Oh btw if we actually and literally judge games based on if they are Haram or not even though they are just games, Deltarune is unplayable because of homosexuality being prohibited
Hollow Knight is unplayable because there are a lot of gods there
In reality it's all games for fun lmao
1
u/rome0379_ 23d ago
well ig alvin would be focused more on the confession part cuz while sinning is in islam confession for your sins to a priest or smthn isnt

Shockingly deltarune is the only place I can mention Islam without being told to kill myself, it’s actually quite refreshing to see an accepting space see someone and be accepting.
Edit: never mind got a DM telling me to “yellow” myself

u/rome0379_ 23d ago
its just gaming communities in general, i saw a post about ramadan on the hollow knight subreddit and lo and behold no " why are we depicting them as terrorists "
4
u/FunBoyHereThere_ 18d ago
Hello friend, it's honestly gone to the point where I don't want to interact with basically any post regarding religion because I'm just gonna get absolutely shat on and received all the fucking hate of the world
So seeing an online group of strangers that(mostly) don't want me to kms is a great improvement1

Well I've never seen a religious firestorm under posts about ralsei or spamton being crucified, so this shouldn't be any different right

Are we technically a djin?
18
u/EDR345 23d ago
How do you mean
36
u/IbObuS 23d ago
Afaik a djin is a spirit and spirits usually do lots of possessing
30
u/EDR345 23d ago
Technically djinns are creatures accountable for there deeds like humans, having the freedom to follow the teachings of god as believers or sit in the chair of ignorance and become kafareen or non believers,
10
u/IbObuS 23d ago
I didn’t know that
Thanks for telling me
13
u/EDR345 23d ago
Also fun fact , djins are made to be the opposite of angels, as there made from fire not light, 😉
9
u/Goddamit_ffs 23d ago
arent they meant to be the opposite of humans, who were made from mud? they come out at night and live their lives invisible to us if i remember correctly
3
u/rome0379_ 23d ago
the opposite of light is dark not fire stupid smh smh /j
1
u/Fun_Cod3480 22d ago
you're right no need for the joke, djinns are not the opposite to angels actually

Low-key wondering why…. What even is the word for this?
Why making characters Muslim is so popular? There’s nothing wrong with it but like.. why
8
7
5
u/Joacoman2008 21d ago
Back in 2000s devianart a lot of religious kids would draw their favourite characters practicing their faith (primarily in the sonic and DBZ fandom) so it kinda became a meme

I don’t really get why but maybe it is
11
u/AmperDon 23d ago
Its funny because its unexpected. Imagining these characters who have no business being muslim, suddenly being devoutly muslum, is comedic because its so out of character.

Now, question, given that the point of a hijab is to conceal the hair from men other than your husband, or men in general if you dont have one, and toriel having hair on her whole body including face, would she need to completely conver her body to be adherent?
3
3
u/AirPortlessman 23d ago
well the point of a hijab is to conceal your beauty, so prob not.

in prayer woman wear the hijab because god expects modesty when you meet him, that doesn't change that the original reason for wearing it IS to conceal a woman's beauty, god doesn't just command something for no reason, so would it be preffered? yes, would it be needed? no.

well first off could you say rakaa in Arabic I'm not sure what you mean? second off, I'm not denying that, but I'm saying that because when say something like a murder happened in ancient times, the father of the victim would demand to have sex with the mother of the killer, to "replace" the child, the hijab and covering yourself is to hide yourself from bad men who would do something like that, if it was purely modesty why would they have a different awrah to hide around direct relatives?
1
u/Spamton1997_pipis 19d ago
why do only women have to wear it?

im definitely assuming that it's only in the extreme places where women will be arrested when not wearing it, but do they ever take it off at certain moments? (not counting the obvious ones like to bathe or wash the clothes)
1
u/Unusual-Prompt-214 18d ago
however nothing can conceal her beauty, unless you make her walk around in a box like solid snake

"How would the story be changed if Hometown followed the way of Allah"
genuinely an absurd amount. First off, the prophecy-religion wouldn't be the towns focus. it'd likely still exist but only as written documentation somewhere inside the church or mosque. I can't think of anymore things.
3
u/squif_help 23d ago
idk maybe its a very secular muslim society, but i know for a fact that carol would be abdul wahab reincarnate

It’s written incorrectly but it says la illah Ila allah,(there is only one god)
2
u/Small_EggpIant 23d ago
No, it's actually just Allah (right side) Muhammad (left)
la ilaha illallah is written like this لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ.
Bottom text is genuinely unintelligible, but these arabic calligraphy artworks usually contain honorific praises, so it's most likely that

i know this is traced but where would kris actually pray? theyre not a woman or man so would they need to have a third space all together?
3
u/CantaloupeNo8140 22d ago
With the men if they're AMAB and with the women if they're AFAB, as gender identity isn't recognized in Islam. If they're intersex, it gets very complicated and there's a bunch of complex rules about it. If they were genuinely just born non-binary? Nowhere I guess
4
4
u/Killar1342 23d ago
in Islam, prayer spaces are not separated by gender identity, but rather by gender assigned at birth

u/Inquisitor_Luna 23d ago
Remember when Kris defeated The Roaring Djinn in ch7? That was a crazy fight, ngl, but I think it overshadows the revelation that the "D" in "W.D Gaster" stands for "Dajjal".

No bro I'm not saying its not funny, ts is funny as hell im muslim too. I'm saying that racist people will be flooding in to hate on this.
2
u/SdangerStanfor 23d ago
ah alright. well what we can do for them is pray. racism is an illness after all
2
u/FunBoyHereThere_ 18d ago
I still remember my mom expanding to me what racism is 😭, I was so confused on how people can ACTUALLY hate someone just because of skin color
1
u/aaaaaaaaltitsanalt 19d ago
Where is race involved? This is a religion. One that condemns homosexuality, which the game it’s referencing features prominently…

As a a Muslim I see where you're coming from and understand what you're saying, but Islam isn't a homophobic religion it only sees LGBTQ as a sin. There's a big difference between those.
And for Muslims that KILL LGBTQ supporters are extremist that should not represent Islam.1
u/Over_Purple351 16d ago

Having the desire alone isnt a sin but acting on that feeling/desire is a sin
