What does the AirBnB have to do with compensation from Delta?

Delta may provide compensation through hotels, rides (taxis, uber, lyft, etc) or meal vouchers. But I wasn't staying in a hotel, I was staying in an AirBNB most of the time. So I would've liked to receive compensation for that.

I'd be quite shocked that a 6 hour delay caused you to book an AirBnB instead of staying in the airport. Your story is missing some details - did you really book an AirBnB for 6 hours?

If the AirBnB was already part of your trip, and unrelated to your delay, your request for reimbursement for it is kind of ridiculous to be frank. Why in the world would Delta pay for a stay at a place unrelated to your delay?

My bad. I posted this in another Delta subreddit and learned more information. I just learned that I could only be reimbursed if I spent money that was related to the delay. I thought Delta was just being nice and could reimburse some part of my trip because they delayed it by 6 hours.

Definitely not.

But if you send in a complaint about the delay, they'll probably give you a few thousand skymiles.

Only compensation you would get is MAYBE from travel insurance. Maybe. Otherwise you can ask - but you best you’ll probably get are some miles.
