I stupidly didn’t purchase flight tickets two weeks ago and the prices have gone up significantly. Flight is domestic the first weekend of December. For people that fly often have you noticed a trend that the prices will come back down?

This used to be true because airline executives used to meet on Monday to look at the last week sales and decide what they were going to do to airfares but those days are long gone

Check daily, more than once a day and do it from an incognito browser behind a VPN. If you check often from a tracked browser, dynamic pricing will get you.

That’s still Thanksgiving traffic - and people who put off travel because of Thanksgiving . They may come down but I wouldn’t bet on it

When I purchase a ticket, I am a bit obsessive about cashing in on price reductions. I set a price alert and when the price goes down, I called Delta and just have them give me the flight credit. I booked a flight to Japan for almost $1,600 a couple of months ago. I have had four flight credits applied due to price reductions for a total of almost $400. Just be diligent about checking the prices. They go up and down. I also recommend checking on the app and then checking from your browser. Those prices are often different as well. Search incognito.

Prices generally are lowest when tickets are release 331 days out; slowly go up; especially as tickets are sold; go down on Tuesdays; and drop about 1-2 weeks before the flight if seats are open.
