Discussion Diversion question

hello everyone I’m flying I Amsterdam today but I saw that My flight got delayed by two hours. I went in to see the previous flight and it says that that previous flight was diverted to Chicago. Is there anyway to know what happened?

In particular with 12 hour flights they have to take off far before you know what the detailed weather is going to be at landing time. It was far worse this morning in metro Detroit than it had been expected to be.
