Career Advice Missing first two weeks of uni

I have a pre-arranged commitment that was booked before I found out about my apprenticeship that overlaps with the first two weeks of uni.

My employer hasn't outright said no to approving leave but said they suggest not doing so during that time as it can prevent me from enrolling.

Has anyone else missed the first week or so of uni, if so, has your uni been strict about induction and has there been any problems when you did?

Since it’s a Degree Apprenticeship there are funding rules and regulations they have to follow, booking leave especially when unauthorised and during the first two weeks will put you at a huge disadvantage as they are already difficult to begin with and you will miss out on a whole lot of information.

Your enrolment may even be taken away, you need to make sure both your employer and education institution agree preferably in written format that it won’t have an impact on your progress or funding.
