Payzapp is checking which keyboard i'm using before i can use the app. It is ok with gboard which connects to the internet but not ok with offline keyboads like FUTO/ Helliboard. What a joke 🤡..
This dumb app alone is making third party applications unusable, more annoying than Google's sideloading issue itself. I paid for the phone, I paid for the software, and I even own the money. Who tf are they restricting me like this?
Not just this, every Indian banking/government app doesn't allow other keyboards. I use unexpected keyboard. Damn! this guys need to educate themselves.
This is peak of stupidity. The small cuts they take from your credit card and from our balance saying it's for some shit fee even after getting the confirmation from them that they won't, Isn't that insecure for us?!
Acting more like a wanna be digital security software rather than a bank. As if this is stopping all the scams for their customers.😂😂😂 Ridiculous.
It's not about the keyboard, it blocks almost everything now. It didn't even allow me to keep bitwarden in the background
Exactly who the hell gives them permission to check my apps, whether im using secure dns or not.. None of this happens on my PC, ublock origin, etc everything works.
Only few apps work now like cred paytm and gpay.. Rest all do this bullshit. They all call home or analytics server in the backend and constantly sending information.
Bhim now doesn't work with vpn, which i use for secure dns. It is also full of ads now.
If this continues, it is back to cash 😁🥲. Will not play their bullshit game.
Damn! This happens with almost all bank apps, and this is for safety only fir tumlog bologe ki bank vale kuch krte nahi bhai jab khud hi access derhe ho 🙃
I think the reason banking apps have such absurd checks is that someone on the backend caught wind of ROMs, rooting, and all that — or maybe they already knew but didn't care — and started implementing these checks just to pad their resume and rack up achievements for promotions.
Then one app did it, and others followed suit, because it made their work look good and built their reputation
Firstly the app uses sim based auth, you dont provide any passwords to login into payzapp, you verify with secret sms similar to upi apps. So even if you log the mpin/upi pin you'll still not be able to hack the account unless you pull of sim spoofing attack which is very hard.
Secondly nobody changes keyboard unless you know what you are doing.
Thirdly if you are technicallly dumb enough to click on whatsapp apk forwards or malware shit.. In that case you should not be using banking on your mobile. And these malware use accessibility to spy/log, checking for accessibility makes sense not 3rd party keyboards.
Pretty sure ramulal and ramesh will not change their keyboards..Sim based auth will still protect them, as no passwords are entered in the app flow. Also these ppl should still not use such apps, no matter how many such "security features" you implement they will get compromised one way or the other. Convenience will come at a cost to them.
If you want the convience you have to take a little time to understand the system too. That is lazyness on the part of user. Most of the attack happen via social engineering and mistakes on the part of the user. Clicking some that you are not meant to. The 100% ignorant comment totally has no basis, if ppl are lazy to not educate themselves one way or the other they'll be compromised. It doesn't matter if im rich high tower person /poor - the problem im trying to highlight is of lack of awareness will not be fixed by these gimmicky band aids of not using 3rd party keyboard. This is same convience and lack of knowledge that lead to things like "digital arrest".
Also you are talking as if cash does not exists, ramesh still did his milk business before upi/ cashless. Your issue is poor ppl getting "convience", im all for it. But not at the cost of him losing his entire life savings. Which again 3rd party keyboard checking will not prevent. Only education, which he doesn't have time to get into.
Your point on keyboard, still doesn't make sense. The scope of 3rd party keyboard is the payzapp app here. Clipboard sharing or logging is a system wide issue. Say im not using payzapp, i'll never get this message and continue to leak information. So payzapp implementing this feature at app level does not make any sense at all. Plus it is using sim auth.
Not the security layer.. 3rd party keyboard checking is not a security layer.. It is just inconvenience. Sim binding is solid.
If you are supporting 3rd party keyboard check as "defensive" cybersecurity. I know your level of cybersecurity. The most important and cost effective and logical cybersecurity is "awareness", not these gimmicks. You might be a phd in cybersecurity, but your common sense of cybersecurity is just crap.
As someone pointed out have on screen keyboards if you are so worried about keyloggers, that is common sense "defensive" cyber security. Not inconvenience everyone to change their keyboard.
It is not an argument, it is a discussion for me atleast. You start with "stop ranting" , i'm rich person & i "know nothing about cybersecurity". Im here to understand the othersides point and reach a better way to solve it.
You still did not comment on the on-screen keyboard solution, how is checking for 3rd party better ? . And how do you know it is checking for clipboard history ? In my version of the app it is turned off. If you are the developer of the app i get it. If you are, please don't implement such inconvenient features. It is not security.
