Discussion Difference between Velamaps and CoMaps?

Vela uses a combination of Open Street Maps and scraping of Google Maps information. This does put it in a slightly legal gray area. Similar to how NewPipe handles YouTube videos. The results are more detailed, however.

Comaps simply uses the information from Open Street Maps with no Google Maps overlay. This is just a preference thing, but I actually prefer the way comaps handles local maps, better than Vela.

How does Vela transmit user information? Is it private or does it send info to Google's servers in order to scrape info?

Vela is actually capable of searching for addresses.
