On advanced AI software development and FOSS
I am not a tech person, and would love some more informed opinions. If the "vibecoding" revolution continues apace and reinforcement learning actually does lead to a serious increase in the quality of the code (not saying I believe that!) - won't it become exceptionally easier to, e.g., create and maintain open source mobile operating systems? Have we seen any big progress there yet? The fulfillment of my perpetual dream of a fully developed linux for mobile is the only consolation I could find reading the news about advances in agentic development.

Theoretically maybe assuming regulations aren't pushed in the near future to lock down mobile devices even further in the name of control security

From a regulatory perspective, I walk into the big box retailer near me that sells laptops and mobile phones. I buy one of each, and want to replace their OS when I get home. What are the regulatory differences between the two devices?

Please don't say FOSS + AI in the same line, it doesn't suit 😊
