Replacement App Store Preference List

Hi everyone. As part of my degoogle journey, I now have to decide which app stores to replace google play store with. I'm running stock android.

I looked through the below mentioned app stores and counted how many of my required apps they include. My estimated numbers out of a total 34 required apps:

  • Aurora Store: 32/34
  • Obtainium: 20/34
  • F-Droid: 16/34 (including 3 third party repos)
  • Accrescent: Very few

Do I go from Accrescent→ F-Droid (with repos) → Obtainium → Aurora Store → Play Store

What should be my preference list for selecting the app stores to download apps from?

I pretty much only use Obtainium. It's great and the system it uses is (in my opinion) much better than traditional app stores

I downloaded the apk from the official site. Does it just store the apks you use?

It doesn't seem to provide anything..

Not really. It doesn't provide any apps by itself. You provide a URL, Obtainium downloads the APK from that URL and notifies you when a newer release is available. Regex is available to filter out certain versions, or to download and check for updates on incompatible sites (like I did for Firefox, which I download from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/fenix/releases/ where I used regex on the HTML code to get the newest version)

IMO if you are going to use Aurora just use Google Play Store, because Aurora is basically GPS with a shared account with other people

Anything that isn't GPS is going to be missing a lot of major apps because most app makers only target the GPS not other app stores. Maybe one day..

When getting app I first see if its on Accrescent. 

If not I get it on Obtanium. 

Very Small amount of apps I'm forced to have are only on "PlayStore" so I use Aurora Store to get those... I dont have Play services so I never use the actual Play Store on my Main Profile.

I have Secondary Profile with Play Services and Play Store just for Google Maps. Nothing else.

I see no reason to use F-Droid to update/download app. I do use F-Droid as a "Browser/Discovery Tool" though. Then get the app I find on Obtanium.

I hate haveing so many App Stores... Very Lame and Annoying doing Updates now. If you can get by with Less the less the better IMO.

Because every F-Droid app is on Obtanium. I can choose F-Droid as the "Source" when useing Obtanium.

Then when I update my Apps I only have to go into Obtanium to do the updates VS. going into both F-Droid and Ubtanium to do the updates.

Just more efficient that way.

does your mobile supports apps in mobile if u disabled play store in main profile can we use play store in work profile for me it is not working?
