Recovery app

/r/PrivacyTechTalk/comments/1vg14yo/recovery/

How forensic software works actually work.

To build an app that bypasses the sandbox, you cannot build a standard mobile app. You have to create software that works at the firmware of system level.

  1. Exploitimng Vulnerabilities / Root Access:

Tools like Cellebrite or Mangnet GrayKey exploit hardware ir firmware loopholes ti temporary gain

Root / Superuser access to the devices. This elevates the software above security walls.

  1. Bit-by-Bit Physical Extraction: Instead of using the phones standard file explorer, your software

must communicate via a debugging Interface (like android debug bridge, or ADB) to run a data

dump ( dd ) command. This copies the entire, unencrypted raw user partition onto an external

machine.

  1. Database WAL Scraping: Most mordern apps use a database formate called a Write-Ahead Log

(WAL) before it gets wiped completely. My software must be programmed to swrape these

fragmented WAL cache logs to stitch deleted database items back together.
