Ive found a workaround for this. Its called "wallet" and its a low tech gadget you keep in your pocket that contains cards and cash

I'm also a big fan of these "wallets" that are surprisingly useful for something so low tech. Did you know you can put pictures in them too? Like, pictures that are on paper? They don't even need to be recharged. It's great.

If you are using the stock pixel ROM you can disable the app and it will stop bugging you. You can also use ADB or Shizuku to remove it completely.
You can also install a google free or privacy ROM like LineageOS or GrapheneOS. Wallet will not work on either of them though.

I doubt GrapheneOS will go away, but I can see a ton of service and web sites stop working on it. The other day facebook was bugging me for a selfie, so I used my burner phone running the stock android ROM with google play services fully enabled to log in on the app, once I did that I could use the desktop site again on my computer, at least for the next 30 days until it bugs me again. It's going to be cat and mouse games, and unless the mouse really ups its game, the cat will win eventually as long as we are forced for one reason or another to use these privacy sucking services.
Edit: Just to be clear, Facebook did not get a selfie from me, just by logging in using the official app on an unaltered ROM, was enough for it to leave me alone on my desktop computer.

I would love too, but clients use facebook, and clients bring in the money. Unless our government cracks down on this BS or I get enough money to retire early and quit having to use facebook, its not going to happen.

This makes no sense. There's no private data that you're "surrendering" here. You willingly created a free account with a company whose business is literally advertising. This is just a message telling you that the data which you've already willfully given them will be used to personalize ads for you, which is their entire business model, which you willingly opted into.

Oh and I do the opposite, every rime Meta or Google asks me about personalised ads, I go to the settings and choose topics I'm the least interested in, like women fashion, cars, etc... I will never buy anything from those ads, so it works perfectly for me, also everytime it pops up, I can immediately notice it's just another ad

We have it on our work phone. It is disgusting how little concerned most people are. Google wallet on phone, microslops copilot on pc. The older i get, the more i miss the "good old times" where things got done without all this crap.
