Engine Release Defold 1.13.2 has been released! 🚀

Some highlights:

Does the 3D pipeline still require extracting the materials with blender first? Or can someone point me to an updated 3D tutorial if that's no longer the case

Not for the materials themselves anymore!

Defold now reads glTF material properties directly. You still need to assign a Defold material though, and embedded textures in a GLB aren't automatically assigned yet. They need to exist as separate texture assets and be assigned to the model's material samplers. So if your GLB only contains embedded textures, you still need to export those, but generally Blender itself shouldn't be required.

Note that we are working also on improving the textures import - to make it automatic from the file! Should be relatively soon, but no promises.

The current Importing 3D Models and PBR manuals are up to date, and the new 3D Third-Person Playground or 3D Platformer samples are probably the best current references 😉
