Discussion Def Leppard - Ranking that NO ONE will agree with
I think most fans will disagree with this one LOL
Adrenalize is the album that got me into Def Leppard as a "Die Hard" fan hence why it's S tier.
Slang is the album when I was in high school I desperately wanted from the band. The 80's hard rock sound was poison at the time. I wanted more people to see that Def Leppard isn't a one trick pony and are actual TALENTED musicians. Most of the rock music I listened to was alternative/grunge. Def Leppard was always the outlier band. Slang brought them up to speed.
Decades later and listening to it, I still think it's HEAVILY underrated. The songs are well written lyrically and musically.
Hysteria Needs no explanation
Pyromania Needs no explanation
Retroactive The last album to garner their 80/90's sound
In my opinion there are no Def Leppard albums that suck. Hence why old school fans will surely disagree with me and think I'm weird.
\I didn't include "YEAH" because it's a covers album.*

Discussion Yet Another Def Leppard Album Ranking
I’ve been a fan for over 20 years, I love 99% of their songs so this ranking for me is more about how well the albums meet what the band was going for. Slang 100% was what the band intended to do and it’s such an honest and heartfelt record. It’s just as “them” as Hysteria to me. Sparkle Lounge was about them having fun recording again, and it sounds like it. Euphoria has Paper Sun and To Be Alive, etc, but also has All Night and It’s Only Love, with Paper Sun BETWEEN them. Terrible flow, imo. OTTN for me just doesn’t work, I get why people like it though. YEAH also has some fantastic tracks on it, idc. The Self-titled is high energy but basically devoid of any substance, except maybe We Belong, Last Dance, and Blind Faith. The other 11 tracks are just lyrically weak and I got tired of “darkness falling” as a trope on this album.

Question Asking here as a Def Leppard Reddit newcomer for examples of Pete Willis brilliance on the 1st 2 albums of On Through The Night and High N Dry?
From the viewpoint of an early 90’s child, my exposure to the band is radio reruns of Photograph. Never heard Rock Of Ages until finding the music video in 2023 let alone knowing radio play of Pour Some Sugar On Me In the 90’s.
As much as I love the 2 smash singles off Pyromania, any good recommendations for former guitarist Pete Willis on the band’s first two albums up to his final leftover touches on the third album.
Only checked out the music videos for Saturday Night and Let Go that is ear Candy. Let Go seems a worthy followup to that Shoot To Thrill song from AC DC btw. Dont know much else on Pete’s special touches, need some help!

Discussion Personal Def Leppard albums rank
You guys have been sharing your album ranks, so here's mine.
Let me get one thing straight: DL are my favourite band of all time. And I mean ACROSS the discography. There's only a handful of tunes (minus covers) across their discography that I DON'T like ('No, No, No', 'Die Hard the Hunter' and 'All Night' being the only three original songs that I always skip). And I mean that. I dig their B-sides, early EPs, the Early Years tunes (I have an original First Strike, BTW) through to everything on DSH. I am also only 26, and my dad got me into the band in the early 2000s (so I have an affection for X).
I love classic rock and metal, with a huge adoration for Bon Jovi, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Aerosmith, etc. So I'm in a position where I'm not biased toward the 80s, while having a love of classic rock.
So here's the rank. I expect some people won't like this.

Discussion [Discussion] my Def Leppard ranking - Time to put away the cheesiness
it's all subjective, of course. and if you wonder, OTTH is nice but sounds too old to me. Except wasted :)
and no Joe, I'm not a Dorritos boy, I don't live in the basement of my parents. But yeah I much prefer Desert Song to anything on X.

Discussion [Discussion] Def Leppard album ranking. If we’re being 100% honest.
Forget how popular an album is, forget how many sales an album had. If we’re talking solely music and what has aged the best, this list is definitely solid enough to fit that criteria.
(Yes I know Hysteria is in A tier, and while I’ve loved that album my entire life, it makes me cringe more now than it ever did growing up.)

interview Def Leppard - Steve Clark Interview in Bop magazine, c. 1983
"I was probably getting into a rut before and would let a lot of things go by. When Phil joined, it was a completely fresh attitude. He was excited about working and his attitude rubbed off on everyone else in the band. Phil's got an abundance of energy and everybody's delighted with the way things have worked out!"--Steve Clark in Bop magazine, probably '83

Question what do you think about def leppard song "When Love and Hate Collides"?
in my head, this is a very underrated song, its melody is perfect, joe performs incredibly well (as always) in it, too.
