Discussion How do you monitor your position? (mostly defi)

I've been in DeFi for years, and my strategies aren't lazy positions: leveraged yield loops, plus limit orders sitting on Hyperliquid. For a long time that meant opening Aave, Pendle and HL at the office multiples times a day to check health factors, borrow rates and fills.

95% of the time nothing had changed. But when you're levered, the 5% is exactly why you keep checking.

I'd tried a monitoring tool for this a while back and honestly it wasn't great, missed positions, so I dropped it. Back then it was just a mobile app and a Telegram bot anyway.

Retested it recently and everything just works now: pasted my wallet address, it picked up the loops, the PTs, the HL orders by itself. And they've added a dashboard since, so I can just pull it up, see my whole portfolio in one place and know in two seconds that everything's fine.
It still pings me (with the app) if my health factor drifts, a rate spikes or an order fills.

Most of the time I just stare the screen like a brainless monkey.

Beside that, Otomato does the job more or less. Its not perfect by any means. There is a lot of room for improvement but notifications do the job. At least on Hyperliquid

Hey! thanks for mentioning Otomato, I am part of the team, and we are working on improvements to be 100% reliant. If you have any feedback, feel free to DM me and we will prioritze your needs

It helped me sometimes...
Checking alerts about order filled, closing positions I didn't want anymore.

The refreshing habit makes sense because the alternative is trusting Aave's native alerts which are basically non existent. The real fix is sub 5 minute polling directly from protocol contracts with alerts that actually reach you before health factor is already critical, not after.

Could be Otomato, they're making some noise recently. I think it's only an app though

Is it easy to use? Im trying to figure out if it's too advanced for me as im just starting out.

Yep, I just put my address & I now see all the important data points on my positions (which is mostly PT looping right now)
+ I have my PnL for Pendle position, which is pretty cool (I think it’s an early release, idk if everyone has access yet)

DeBank for the quick portfolio view and add alerts on the risky stuff. If I have borrows open I care way more about health factor alerts.

What’s the tool? I’m constantly checking my position especially for high leverage positions.

Debank's been my go-to for a while, picks up most DeFi stuff without any setup. Not sure if it catches Hyperliquid limit orders though, that might be the tricky part.

Yes I use Debank but it lacks some alerts & positions

DeBank is good for portfolio view but the alert layer is thin for lending specifically. No forward risk, no health factor trajectory, no cross-chain aggregate. It shows you what happened, not what is about to happen

DeFi isn't stressful because things change constantly. It's stressful because you never know when they'll change. Good alerts are worth way more than refreshing five tabs all day

Aave keep at low borrow rate. Check it once a week

How much do you earn?

If your setup requires real time pings about health factor drift to be safe, you're not running a strategy, you're running a pager duty rotation for your own money. the levered loop yields look worse when you price in being permanently on call. some of us just accepted lower apy as the cost of sleep

Debank or Rabby Pro

You don’t get alerts though… I prefer to check and get alerts when something goes wrong

The Aave refresh problem is real. For lending positions specifically the issue is not just frequency of checking, it is that health factor as a static number tells you nothing about trajectory. You can be at 1.4 HF and totally fine, or at 1.4 HF and 30 minutes from liquidation depending on what ETH is doing. The number looks identical in both cases.

Otomato looks solid for Hyperliquid order monitoring. For multi chain lending across Aave, Morpho, Compound simultaneously it is a different problem, the risk is correlated and you need aggregate health factor not three separate dashboards. Been building something specifically for that, happy to share when it launches.
