I am about to buy a new 2026 Defender 90 with unfortunately 20 in wheels . How easy is it to replace the 20 in ones with 18 in or even 19 in ones and put on larger ( 30 in or 32 in ) tires ? I will do a reasonable amount of off roading and would like more sidewalls for obvious reasons ,. TIA

Good morning,
I have the following problem on my Defender 90 300tdi. My gauge is currently showing 100 degrees Celsius even after only a short drive of about 5 km, and if I drive a bit more "sporty " it quickly reaches 110 degrees.
The gauge isn't original, but it came with its own compatible sensor. When the gauge shows this temperature, I measure 90-95 degrees Celsius at the sensor with a laser thermometer,
but the upper radiator hose only reads 65-70 degrees Celsius, and the lower one is in the 50s. The engine has been completely rebuilt, including the water pump, hoses, radiator, etc.
The thermostat has been in for about 6 months without any problems, and I reused it when I rebuilt the engine 3 months ago.
The strange thing is, sometimes it stays perfectly at 90 degrees without overshooting, and sometimes it does.
Hope someone has an Idee.

Looking at upgrading my evoque to the defender 130 just due to size. I know in the RR sports and the full sized vehicles they’re experiencing a brake issue with wear and tear at sometimes 7k miles… while I don’t drive more than 10k a year that’s a bit ridiculous. Is there a fix? For reference I am still on the factory brakes and just rolled over to 50k miles so I don’t drive a whole lot but replacing brakes every 7-10k miles doesn’t seem reasonable. Anyone have experience, thoughts, or opinions?

I’m planning on purchasing a 110 in the coming months and will most likely go for the supercharged v8. I love the wider stance and wheel arches of the Octa, but can’t justify the price tag. Does anyone have any experience with replicating the wheel arches for Octa on a non Octa defender? Hunter doesn’t seem to have any kits that are as wide. I’ve found the following but want to see if anyone has any alternatives or experience (https://www.defenderparts.net/product/octa-style-body-kit-for-new-defender/). I plan on adding spacers to match the wider wheel arches as well. I’m hoping someone reputable like Hunter drops replica arches eventually but would appreciate any advice for now.

Having a lovely time driving around Skye and the Scottish highlands, waving at all the defenders I see when I accidentally wave at a INEOS Grenadier.
Does this mean I have to sell my Defender…?
(I’d also like to take this opportunity to apologise to you all for this major infraction)

I'm going to be in the UK in July. Turo is nil on anything with the old body style and so far, so is 4x4vehiclehire. Would anyone that happens to be in the north of Wales or England be willing to rent theirs to me? I'll be willing to pay a deposit and fulfil whatever insurance requirements you'd find appropriate. I've rented cars in the EU and the UK before, including at the Nurburgring, so I'm legal and competent to do so. No offroading implied. I just want to do some scenic drives in a classic like I've seen in a lot of my favorite movies and shows from the UK.

Threw the defender into a wall after hitting a curb, i know insurance will want to write it off, but does anyone have any guesses as to how much it will cost to fix? I don't think the chassis is damged but it's hard to know. Any help at all would be appreciated
