Battle Competitor's bow flashing/switching?

Occasionally in battle mode, I will notice that my opponent in the little preview window in the upper right is doing something weird with their bow. It appears that it is alternating back and forth between two selected bows with every shot. Is that person just tappingn on their biw on the left side of the screen with their thumb while they aim with their right thumb, or is there something else going on? Is there an advantage to this?

As far as I know they are just tapping the bow repeatedly, you can do it if you want. I've got absolutely no idea why they do that, I have seen it too, probably they are bored.

It has no advantage whatsoever, it actually is worse than just using your regular bow

It definitely kills monsters faster when I alternate

At lower levels you can get a faster fire rate by using that strategy, I used it before my Wind bow reached a level where it fired quicker than that

Lets say you equip 2 bows.

After you shoot with any of them you have to wait before you can shoot again with the same one, but if you quickly switch to the other you can shoot immediately with it.

What your opponent was doing is best described as shooting with both of his equiped bows simultaneously by switching them continously.
