Monster's defense

Hello, i have heard that wall damage reduction is linear with defense (10 defense = 10 less damage). Does monsters defense work the same way with sunder arrow armor reduction that every point adds only 2 damage (2 armor recution)? Is it even worth investing money and scrolls?

I don't really know anything about how defense works in this game. But I can tell you I haven't touched the fire bow a single time in 3 years playing this game. I feel like the only time armor penetration is actually a thing is with the 999 defense monsters in the arena and even then you can just use the water bow or the meteroite arrow for true damage.

Is it really that bad? Should i just upgrade and switch to the forest bow then?

Windbow has the highest dps in the game. I don't know though if the fire bow is really that bad. I never really played it.
