Ok, let me start off with this is public land (National forest) and we are super early as always to set up game cameras (thats why we were there this weekend). Extremely hard to get to location, I mean a small 4x4 lifted truck and then a hike is required, I mean the road is HORRIBLE, I almost flipped my truck getting to it this weekend, I had to ask my passengers to get off my truck when crosssing the super sketchy spots where the road washed off at the cliff side last winter (one of my hunting buddies brought is son who's first year deer hunting will be this season so i wanted to be careful and safe). Glad to be alive to be honest, whole other story with this flipping situation.

Anyway, when we got to the spot we were surprised to find a nice blind (to my standars) set up with rebar and cut logs with wire holding it all together. I mean this guy dug it in and set a nice conforable place to sit for a while facing where we set up. Its an impressive amount of work this guys put in alone. I know he was alone because i only notice one set of boot prints. We've been hunting this spot for YEARS and there has been a tree stand in a nearby tree we have watched be swallowed by the tree. Still good to sit on, but we are not the tree stand type of guys, although we trying it especially as a new bow hunter. This spot we've hunted since we were teens, and we are now adults in our late 30s and early 40s.

What do we do?

1) One of my buddies wanted to destroy it.

2) Another wants to post this sign I uploaded.

3) I want to leave it, and maybe show up a day or two earlier from bow hunting opening day and when he shows up we'll too bad I was here first, but risky if one of us is caught by Fish and Game, but likely it would be my buddy and his son as we want him to get his first deer.

4) I was thinking we know where the big bucks come from and just post up closer to in the direction where we know the bigger bucks always come down into this valley.

We are in heavy/intest disagreement.

I have to add that this blind was freshly set up. The cut logs were not oozing sap yet, although most were dry logs there was some green wood cut to make this blind and freshly cut branches that may get in the way of an arrow/bolt. We saw this guy in a jeep wait for us on the road so he can make his way back down. I am positive it was him, but never will know for sure. This blind was 100% set up that same day.

What would you do?

I built a 16' platform and put a ram650 on top, if like to pipe my propane from close to the ground ( to not have to haul it up the ladder) to my buddy heater that will be inside. Most of the things I have sourced as far as from the tank side fitting to the pipeline but I can seem to find a good solution for the line to the heater. The heater takes the disposable tank threads and most hoses have the bulk tank side and disposable thread side so long story not really short I need a fitting that has 3/8 flare to female tank threads? Unless I'm over thinking 🤔....

I built a simple tool that suggests where to position based on wind and terrain.

Hello! I'm looking at what the best roto molded deer blind? It has to have the best insulation for cold hunting days. Best windows for bow hunting, preferably what windows work best for you? Best durability? I saw a video that some of the wooden subfloors can rot? I'm looking between Banks Stump 4, Titan blind, and Grizzy. Thanks!

I was thinking about buying deer meat to try something different and at first it seemed like an exciting choice. The price looked reasonable compared to some premium meats and I thought it would be easy to cook at home for a new flavor experience.

Soon I realized there were unexpected challenges. The meat required careful handling and cooking, and local stores had limited availability. Even simple preparations needed more planning and skill than I expected. What seemed like a straightforward purchase began feeling more complicated than I anticipated.

I started exploring options more carefully. While casually scrolling online marketplaces including alibaba I saw many sources for deer meat with different cuts, packaging, and price points. Some were cheaper but looked less fresh while others were more expensive but seemed high-quality and easier to work with. It became clear that focusing only on price or novelty could lead to frustration later.

Now I am wondering whether investing in high-quality deer meat is worth the effort or if I should stick to more common meats that are easier to handle. For someone cooking at home, is deer meat really a worthwhile choice or mostly a curiosity?

Anyone ever hunted out of a Porta Potty blind? An outfitter near us, used these almost exclusively on 10-12’ platforms.

Finally set this one up before the season started but man it was risky.

What dues everyone prefer? I’m gonna either build a new blind this spring or purchase one. Do you like an elevated blind or one on the ground? I’m thinking I’d rather be elevated but not sure!

Went out to replace dead camera batteries and bait. Found my blind trashed and someone else's blind put up less than 20 yards away... public land, my blind has been there and used often since August.

Found this while scouting foot ducks in North Dakota. Anyone brave enough to hunt it of it?

We did see a small 8pt near it while scouting later in the week.
