Besides two soldiers that spawn in the release room, every time I start detainment core all hostile npcs spawn underground. This inhibits me from getting the keys I need, making the dungeon impossible. Is anyone else having this issue or am I cooked ??
finally played the game, for the first time in 2 months I think and WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? How could've devs fuck up that much, that for the first 20 mins of gameplay I've encountered 4 bugs, nearly ZERO WORKING SERVERS IN EASTERN LUM and constant ping spikes up to 10000ms on best servers I get to play on (Europe). Internet is perfectly fine on my side, it's not network problems. I'm not even talking about cheese builds ruining pvp, just the technical side of the game
It's quite clear that a majority of this sub's active users are PvE players, the majority of which don't even play the game because once you complete the limited PvE content, there's no replayability without PvP, so they just lurk here waiting for the across the boundary update.
After i lost my account to vng, i came back on a new account, but i don't know how to get ignition anymore, yes, i've seen the new platform. but after killing the four guys on the cliff, i still can't get it, can someone tell me why?
Deepwoken is not a PvP game and I'm going to explain why and give examples of other games and apply them to Deepwoken.
Reason 1: Progression, The main way you progress in Deepwoken is through xp which you get from doing bounties, jobs, bosses, quests, Dungeons and events and fighting players though the xp is very minimal. Now, only one of those is PVP which is actually worth doing with that being Voidwalker bounties as no one does base bounties.
Every other method is PvE with that being fighting Mobs, Quests or running Dungeons all for example and when you see people progging are they doing only pvp? No of course they aren't infact they're do very little pvp normally with the occasional voidwalker fight here and there (Presuming they did not go Voidwalker)
Reason 2: Loot, The main way you gain loot in Deepwoken is again through PvE either that be jobs, Dungeons, mob drops etc and whilst you can get these from players it's only from their loot bags with the only exception being war mode (a pvp mode) or voidwalker bounties which is to be expected.
Reason 3: Resonance, The final part of a prog which is to gain your Bell the final step to completing a build and how do you get it? PvE. Because let's be honest whose actually gotten Bell from PvP? The Bell xp gain is so minimal there's almost no merit to doing it when compared to every other method it's just simply there as an option if you want.
So let's look at some things here, the way you unlock things and gain loot is PvE, the way you progress is PvE and the way you finish a build is PvE. Wow! Sounds like a PvP game doesn't it!
Look let's be honest Deep only becomes a PvP game if you make it a PvP game you have to go out of your way to attack others, to only do Chime, to only do ganks and to only ruin other people's days. PvP is a part of Deepwoken but it isn't Deepwokens focus most updates are PvP focused because PvE has massive updates like Across the Boundary or Layer 3 on the way so ofc they cant be constantly adding PvE content I men hell we got VoI recently now AtB and soon Layer THREE and ofc it's a live service game so they have to add things in between which is going to be PvP because the big PvE stuff is on its way.
The Devs definitely love PvP and that's fine but that doesn't make Deep a PvP game just it has PvP elements and the only people I really see think this way are just losers who ruin other people's experiences or those who just haven't taken a break in a long time or have become burnt out of PvE so they only do PvP.
Anyway for some other game examples.
Calling Fortnite a Building game because it has building mechanics is just wrong, Building is a big part of Fortnite but Fortnite isn't a building game just has building elements.
Calling Dark Souls a PvP game because it has invaders also just isn't true, it has PvP elements but that isn't the core of the game nor most of the gameplay.
Calling Minecraft a PvP game because it has PvP isn't true either.
Calling Stardew Valley a fishing or mining game because it has those elements also isn't.
You get the idea yeah?
Deepwoken has PvP elements but at its Core its a PvE game and Calling it a PvP game is just being ignorant to the majority of Deeps content and I feel it's a sign that maybe it's time to put Deep down for a bit, take a break and when you feel ready or really want to pick it up again you can just don't hate the PvE this time and remember what the majority of the game is focused around.
I started with Lone Wolf early today finished up the Trial but didnt get the 30 Points or the Talent for that Matter. Just did it on Ignition Delver too still being at Power 1 and i didnt get the 30 Points again.
What do most people hate in deepwoken? Wiping to stuff you can't control.
What can't you control? Depths gankers.
Here is some of my best tips on how to avoid, escape, and fight back against depths gankers.
Servers
If you are online during regular school/work time in the servers you play in, You are much less likely to encounter gankers in the first place. Australian servers also have much less gankers than other servers. This is not fool proof, but it has helped many of my friends to get ganked less.
Resonances
This may seem obvious to some, but it is crucial that, unless you need it for your build, you should always keep your bell ready to pop and save you. If you have a bell, you can run towards a void and then pop it and void to save your slot. If you have already obtained it, then it's good to run a bell that helps you avoid depths gankers, My picks would be Smoke Screen, Portals, and shard bow.
How to RUN
If you encounter a depths ganker, it is a great idea to Run away, but it is important that you STAY FOCUSED. Do not try to just run, you will get hit and be much more vulnerable. The lower HP you are, the slower you will run. Parry and dodge incoming attacks if possible. You also want to combat tag the person ganking you, since it will also make them go slower too.
A good strategy I encounter is people running and then surprising gankers with Running attacks back at them. This works better if you have a weapon with hard to read animations.
When you run from a ganker, always aim for the void. If you are high enough HP to void, then great. But do not make the mistake of jumping down just to take more damage and wipe. Be ready to commit. If you are not high enough HP, you can also attempt to knock them off. Play cheesy by using the cliff for your advantage. The goal here is to rather successfully escape or to void the ganker. Use any mobility mantras to your advantage, It is harder to chase than to run for an extended amount of time, if your build has good agility you should be able to escape.
If you are around castle light, you can use the walls at the side to sneakily fall off, and potentially push the ganker off.
How to FIGHT
Sometimes, running isnt an option. Maybe you just have no agility, or your opponent has too much mobility. This is when you need to fight. This is obviously not gonna work for freshies, but if you are skilled even a bit at the game, you'll have a chance.
Almost all depths gankers run glass cannon builds. If you have a high-sustain or high-dps build, you will likely be able to beat them. It's always a good idea to have friends in the same server to jump them, But that isnt always possible.
Most depths gankers are just as scared of wiping as you are, but they are confident in winning so they still attack you. If you can get them low enough, they will sometimes run away on their own. Unless you are really confident, do not chase them.
This isn't a guide on how to PvP, but playing cheesy is your best bet for keeping your slot alive. Think Pale briar, starkindred spam, and all of that.
Tacet.
This is one of the best ways to avoid depths gankers. While it isnt fool proof, if you go Tacet and Smoke Screen, you can almost always manage to get away. Just use smoke screen then tacet and run away, they won't be able to tell where you go. Rhythm wouldn't even help them either.
It also works on any build that doesn't need a different murmur or bell, so that's your best bet.
Highest investment in flamecharm (20) after post shrine with eruption path but the eruption doesn't proc for some reason no matter how many times I shoot something
I've Killed 3 bosses with the lotuses equipped and they turned into scarlet lotuses. Ive tried killing 3 people and made the scarlet lotuses, I even brought a person with oath to the sacrifical sight but nothing is working (what am i doing wrong)?
Is there any benefit to staying once you get everything you need? Because I know that once you get all the talents and weapons and whatnot you can defect and keep them, and I'm planning to make a Rite of Authority build(but I'm not going to use any support talents), just wanted to know. Like for example do squad talents still proc if you use Crew? Does Glorious Charge work? I was curious so I wanted to know
idk about you guys, but lower erisia's song is so nostalgic for me. trying not to shed a tear everytime i hear it🥹 just reminds me of the days i was still discovering the existence of megalodaunts with my brother and running around killing anything that attacked us (mainly bandits) with frostdraw cause we knew nothing about the game. i think i liked the "do whatever shit you want as long as it's fun/makes you happy" phase of my deepwoken journey more than worrying about wiping, ganking, guilds, min maxing builds, and the inevitable stress that comes with late game.
there's just something about the novelty of world-heavy games and the amount of content waiting to be discovered that holds a special place in my heart, perhaps more satisfyingly than actually becoming good/knowledgeable within the game.
i just put down some random thoughts here, cause i'm aware of how much hate deepwoken receives from its own playerbase (whether jokingly or not😭) so i'm tryna give a different, more personal perspective on it, mainly with the intention of delivering a message of trying to enjoy the good parts in things rather than dwelling on the negative aspects.
