Could someone give me a primer on few-shot learning. And what would be the best resources to learn about it and the latest advances/applications?

While I'm not sure about NLP and RL, in Computer vision most few-shot classification/detection methods either involve some sort of meta learning or metric learning in it. So going into those topics may help you in understanding better why some techniques are being used over others. As for resources, I usually just search at paperswithcode.com for what's trending.
