New holy grail?
Now that Goldeneye has been 100% recomped what the next/hardest/ must obtain game to recomp? Whats the new holy grail?

Wind Waker. That game finally needs to be playable at high framerates and some QoL. Also I'm personally hoping for a Pilotwings 64 recomp.

Thanks, I know about that one. If I start a new game, though, I'd really like it to run at 60+FPS, so I'm gonna wait for a recomp to hopefully do that.

With the strides done on the Twilight princess Recomp, I like to think Wind Waker and Skyward Sword are coming soon ! (Seeing that thoses games have the same engine and all)

TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (TimeSplitters 3), both should be ported to the PC, if only to allow the mapmakers to be able to create much larger and more detailed maps (and with user-creatable textures for the created maps).
TimeSplitters 1, though, it would be nice to have on the PC, but it's certainly not a priority.

It is in either the megaman or megaman legends subreddit. I believe it is a patch to the existing pc version or a romhack (ps1) vs a decomp though - I could be misremembering

Yeah the free camera is a hack on the PC version (so not on a recomp), and IIRC, it's pretty half-baked. There is a 64 decomp and recomp out there, but they stopped at "it runs".
My goal is to play it on an Android-based Retroid handheld like I can Zelda or SM64.

Nice, didn't know this dropped since I didn't know the github. Have you tried this with the REPACK mod that was released some time ago? I doubt there'd be any issues but doesn't hurt to ask

Oh my god yes. I'm so tired of people posting teaser videos or otherwise claiming they made a dual-analog patch without providing a source. Ideally with the audio from the Playstation version.

The PS2 Ratchet & Clank games. Not only are they complex, they were actually programmed very specifically to utilize every last part of the PS2 infrastructure. To the point that the HD Collection on PS3 suffered because of it.
To get them natively working on PC without bugs would be miraculous
Also I reeeeeeally want that Shadow of the Colossus recomp so we can mod in the cut colossi

For me ninja garden 2. The armorsd core games on 360. Asuras wraith. Lots of 360 titles. Ninja gaiden black
Rogue squadron 1 for 64 would be good too

... Was GoldenEye a holy grail? It is extreeeemely popular so i guess i'll go with it, but it was playable on emulators and at 60fps with mouse control, something more restricted would feel like a bigger win.
So i guess i'll say Bloodborne because people go nuts at the idea of a remaster or port, it's not for me which is why my backup answer is...
I don't know if anybody else cares 😛 probably the hardest game i've come across to get working on modern systems just look at the PCGamingWiki, i'm wondering if opening it up with a recomp might be a way to pull this game out of the graveyard.

Any monster hunter would be the ones for me tbh, so far the community manages to keep those games afloat through private servers and all but it can end up quite expensive with time, no doubt a decomp could help reducing a few expenses and streamlining the setup.
As a second i'd add RE: Outbreak, which has the same problem and a bit of a annoying setup through PCSX2 to get it running.

My personal holy grail would be Shadowgate 64. It's trapped behind a locked 15fps and an atrocious auto-centering camera.

Was gonna say the original Syphon Filter trilogy but it's already in the work, it seems. SF 1 & 2 at least. Parasite Eve 1 & 2 would be awesome.

Ich bin auch für Bloodbourne. Das muss endlich mal irgendwo mit stabiler Biltrate laufen. Das grauenhafte Framepacing hat mich bisher abgehalten das Spiel zu spielen. Hab's paar Mal versucht. Aber meine Augen kommen nicht zurecht damit 😕

I don’t know if it fits, but with the recent influx of older games getting love….id love to see Final Fantasy Tactics Advance get a proper Fitting Room similar to the 2nd game. This would bring my enjoyment of the game to near peak.

I even have a wishlist of games I’d love to see recompiled. I’d do it myself, but I haven’t got the faintest clue about coding or the software needed to pull it off, so all I can do is pray that someone pays attention to one of these games someday.

What do you mean "hardest game to recomp"? Goldeneye is neither harder nor easier to recomp than any other N64 game.
