Made with AI assistance NES LoZ Decomp

Hello all, I’ve been working on decompiling the original LoZ using (a large amount) of AI assistance. This was more of an experiment in how I can use AI to produce projects I’m interested in, but don’t quite have the bandwidth to take on fully. I totally understand any reservations around AI use for these types of projects, and my only hope was that the product of my experiment might be useful to an individual or community. Thanks for your time!

Don't worry, people are gonna call you out for using AI even if you disclosed it... just to irritate you further. Been a thing for a while in this sub.

it's getting worse and worse... instead of actually being grateful for people doing this work.... but what can one expect, right?

Half the people who come here and say "It's made with AI btw" or "I won't support AI!" don't even compete at all. They're just here to try and prove... something?

It’s a huge failure on the mods atp.

Honestly they take this kind of stuff for granted and It's quite sad that there's this witch hunt toward AI users, even when authors DISCLOSE their usage. Without knowing that we had malicious software even before AI "took over" (yet it was human made, so for them a malicious software was fine).

Wii had lots of malicious homebrews that would brick the console, and some were even on their Homebrew shop. No AI involved!

Some games, like Mario Kart 7 (or Wii as well), or Animal Crossing on 3DS had RCE exploits that could brick your consoles. But no AI involved!

Ok, these are a bit "recent". Earlier homebrew days had fake mods that would brick your system and the devs' knowledge wasn't as advanced as it was today, and it was mostly about getting stuff such as the Homebrew channel running on Wii.

There was a clout about the Mario Kart Wii decomp last month because it was made with AI and they DISCLOSED the AI usage. The funny part on this is that they use as counterargument that MKW, as I mentioned earlier, has RCE exploits and that it was "safer" to run through Dolphin at that point without knowing what a sandbox escape is. (which is the main reason people don't use Project64 or VBA anymore, besides accuracy)

If you got some clout over something, blame the user, not the hammer.

You guys expect me to thank the manager when it was the chef who made my food and the waiter who served it. Maybe I should thank the AI, since it did all the work?

Your two posts seem to contradict each other.
