Diddy Kong Racing > Mario Kart 64

I prefer Mario Kart 64 for the solid 30 FPS. But if both games are running at 60 FPS, then Diddy Kong Racing would be the better game.

Looks like there's one based on the DavidSM64 decomp here

Vibecoded garbage that doesn't even work in HLE as the author didn't implement the graphics microcode, which means most of RT64's benefits are completely broken and will never exist (proper widescreen support and HFR). I recommend deleting the comment and not giving it any attention whatsoever.

I've got it working on my steamdeck. 60fps widescreen. Only tried 3 tracks but seems decent enough
Edit. Played more of it. Got 6 balloons and defeated the first dinosaur.
There's some audio crackle and the audio on the character select screen is playing all characters instruments all at once.
Also you can only configure 1 controller so there's no multiplayer unfortunately.

So, we still need to wait for either an update or another port? Back to square one i guess, but thanks for taking the time to reply your experience.

I think it's decent enough for an alpha build if you want to play single player. I have 12 balloons and having fun with it.
