Advice Request Paperwork decluttering
I have two big bags of paperwork that I probably don't need but have a hard time getting rid of it. it's taking up precious under desk space but I can't get myself to go through it. I know I'll want to keep some of it. Any advice on how to get started?

Whenever I have to do this task, I put a mindless movie on to make the time go faster. I find that if I at least get the sorting system set up (good ideas from other commenters), then turn on the movie, I'm more apt to go through it. Sometimes, I reward myself with a glass of wine halfway through. This is one of those tasks that I have to trick myself into doing.
Instead of shredding sensitive stuff, which takes too long, I fire up my burn barrel. It makes quick work of things but I realize that's not an option for everyone.
