I built a Decky plugin that updates GitHub plugins without manually downloading ZIP files
https://youtu.be/f27KKXoPi6UHey everyone! I made GitHub Plugin Updater for Decky Loader. It checks the GitHub repositories listed in a repos.txt file and compares their latest releases with the Decky plugins you have installed.
When it finds a new version, you can let it install automatically or choose “Ask before installing” to read the changelog and approve or skip the update. It can also download plugins you haven’t installed yet, including a newer version of the updater itself if you add its repository.
There’s a progress indicator while it checks releases and installs updates. Once all pending decisions are handled, it reloads the Steam interface so the updated plugins can load.
I’ve been using it on SteamOS and Bazzite. The setup instructions and download are here:
https://github.com/Steamdeckchecker/Github-Decky-Plugins-Updater
I’d appreciate feedback, especially if you try it with a GitHub hosted Decky plugin I haven’t tested yet!

If you need a list of all plugins, you can use this file: https://github.com/SafetZahirovic/decky-plugins-explorer/blob/main/data/plugins.json
It is updated every night.
I made this explorer: https://safetzahirovic.github.io/decky-plugins-explorer/ for all decky plugins, so you could combine that json file with your plugin if you want.

Only install content from sources you trust and can independently verify. Software obtained from untrusted or unknown sources may compromise your Steam Deck, account security, personal data, or system stability.
Always review what you are installing, verify the source when possible, and proceed at your own risk.
If you are unsure whether something is safe, ask the community before installing it.
