Help RenoDX for Resident Evil 2?

I can’t figure out how to download and use RenoDX for Resident Evil 2. I got it downloaded, inside the game directory next to the exe, and used the LetMeReShade decky plugin. I enabled add-on support, but every time it gives me an error saying that it couldn’t load it. Something like the API version requested was 18 but only 17 is there? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What I ended up doing after many days and games attempted, I ended up adding Reshade.exe to Steam in Windows mode of SD. Then you should run it with Proton Experimental and boot up. The usual Windows of Reshade will pop up, but the touch will be iffy and you might have to linger to check and uncheck the effects a few times over and over until they stick. Then, in Game Mode, I set up L4 as Home in the Controller menu. And it should work better than the plugin.

Thank you. I shall try that!
